Pretty CONFIDENT and that’s the key word or meaning in all of this that Illinois isn‘t interested in pivoting from Blackwell or settling. Like Indy has been saying all along…

You will find out soon enough…. 😎

I know it was mentioned earlier that Illinois has certain test they like to give recruits. I'm starting to think the team needs to put one of these in at the Ubben basketball complex. Lots of winning in our future!

Yeah wasn't he originally suppose to announce yesterday, then we had 4 announce. Wondered if that was because he wanted to not do the same day.

Who knows.
Yup

That or maybe he simply is making the biggest decision of his 17-18 years of life and needs an extra day or two

This won't be popular, but here goes anyway. I'd like to see Ty on a D3 team. I think he's simply in over his head at high level D1 hoops. This will never happen of course for several reasons, the first (and most important) being $$. As I've often posted, in addition to the Illinii, I support Illinois Wesleyan basketball (where I got my bachelor's degree (I only went to grad school at Illinois). This year the Titans won a very strong conference and advanced to the elite 8 in NCAA tourney. They have a player named Noah Cleveland who would do very well in D1 basketball. But he's more serious about academics than hoops. Every now and then you see a guy in D3 who would excel at D1. Anyway, I wish Ty well and hope he finds the right spot. He's tough as nails and smart; that's what I see when I make the D3 wish. He is for sure worthy of all our respect.

Real shame there won't be a senior night for Ty in Champaign. I hope he plays for someone that ends up on our schedule in the coming season. Ty could have left after his sophomore year, but stayed and red-shirted.

Although not definitive by any means, the fact that Ty is leaving might give a clue about Andrej staying or not (OR.... perhaps that had nothing to do with his decision). We'll just find out in the next 4 1/2 days from now.

Maybe a hot take … Maybe not …

If you’re a development piece and you’re playing games like dragging out the commitment and all that … Red flag …
Yeah, and I think perhaps he's seeing the phrase "development piece" being used. I speculate ZZ is headed west.

Then they should tell him play like you did at the end of the year and you have nothing to worry about.
No, if he gets injured and gets back, have assurance, like Boswell got, that you aren't coming off the bench. With Davis starting, the thought was that Brad didn't want to mess with the chemistry was built, which I'm 100% on board with.

That said, What did Kylan do to "earn" that starting spot back? I could see where Drej COULD be a little miffed, but was a true pro about it. Tough spot.

This is Drej's last year of college ball. It's his last crack at showcasing himself for the NBA. I would TOTALLY understand that assurance.

I can guarantee you that if Drej brought his concern to Brad and the response was:

"play like you did at the end of the year and you have nothing to worry about."

He'll be gone. Glad you aren't negotiating this one.
