I asked the same thing a few weeks ago but got no response. I don't see how it is feasible to play both sports in this day and age. Looking at this past year, the Music City Bowl was on Dec. 30. By then, the basketball team had played 14 games. I don't know how you would manage that overlap. On the other hand, I would love to see Tywan Cox join the track team after the football season. He ran a 46.29 four hundred meter in high school last year (and a 45.14 split in the 1600 M relay). To put that in perspective, 46.29 would have earned him 6th place in the B10 meet last year.
I’m pretty sure Indy answered saying Brad wasn’t counting on him playing basketball.

Makes sense. With Michigan, we'll have to see if Morez stays in the draft, but they're losing 90% of the most critical pieces of their roster. That includes the strength of their roster, which was their entire frontcourt, which includes the conference player of the year.

They're transfer class might be very, very good, but you can't rip the guts out of a team and expect a top 5 season. Heck, Duke is losing this national player of the year. Boozer carried them in games that they probably should have lost, including round 1 vs Sienna.

We're also a question mark. We're losing an All American, plus, if I'm going to punch Duke in the gut over the NCAA Tournament, we could look at our path to the Final Four was paved beautifully for us. Playing a 14, 11, 2(By FAR our most impressive performance) and a 9(8??).....the draw was pretty much perfect.

You look at the whole list, less Florida, and you can poke holes in their argument.

Florida flat out didn't bother to show up for 25 minutes vs Iowa, but when they needed to turn off the water, they did. There was what, a 19 point swing in 13 minutes? When you play with your food and it gets under 5 minutes, anything can happen. Missed free throws and a three by an unlikely source and hey....they got what they deserved. You can look at that like a mess around and find out situation.

What they are bringing back and what there's acquiring......it's impressive. I don't see a question mark with them. JMO.

cue up the (sadly predictable) freakouts

this is just a smart move by Dre to get NBA feedback. he's coming back, y'all ('cause he's not a first rounder)
May 27th is the the NBA Draft withdrawal deadline, for the record.

It's just a bit of a hostage situation with our roster construction situation, which is suboptimal.

The team will be best when (if?) we add someone who Andrej and his camp are going to incorrectly perceive as contesting his role in the offense, which he is understandably sensitive to after Keaton Wagler iced him out of what he came to Illinois for last year.

Just for sheer timing reasons I would guess the chances of us adding someone from Europe versus the portal probably just went up.
