I think we’re good on wings with Dre, Jake, and Morillo. We’re also good on 3 ball shooters with Vaaks, Coleman, Jake, Mirk, and Tomi. I expect Z and Dre to hit some open ones too. So we’ve plugged the Ben absence sufficiently.

What we are missing is a backup 4.

Morillo is not a great shooter so difficult to play him alongside Dre. That means he can’t backup Mirk. He probably also lacks the build to be guarding the Koa Peats and Morezs of the world.

We could use an athletic, physical, and defense-oriented PF to backup Mirk and be a secondary lob threat besides our center. Essentially a Morez, Awaka, Chinyelu type player.

Danilo would need to buy into being a rebounding and defensive menace.
6'9", 245-pound Junior, Power Forward David Fuchs (San Francisco), is still available in the transfer portal. Fuchs, born in Vienna, Austria, averaged 12.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 24.0 minutes/game this past season for the Dons, while shooting 51.7% on FGs, 30.3% on 3-pointers, and 64.5% on FTs. I think he could be an "athletic, physical, and defense-oriented PF to backup Mirk" that you refer to above. I also think that his 7.8 rebounds/game speaks well for what he could provide to the Illini as a backup PF.

Danillo is a 6'10 plus 4 man. He needs more muscle but he isnt a wing. If its just rebounding we need if Jaktys can play he can rebound and has length too. Going into his 3rd season as still a redshirt/ med reshirt guy on the cheap he can still do those things a few minutes if thats what we need. I want more if we can get it. It will be interesting to see what happens. I wonder if we dont have Danillo on hold right now or if he is waiting on a committable offer from us.
While I appreciate that Jakstys had the persistence to stay here, when he's had the chance to play there haven't been any signs he has the potential to develop into a player capable of contributing at our level. If he has a basketball epiphany and winds up developing 1000% over the summer that would be fantastic for him and us. But it would be a mistake to count on anything like that happening.

Deadest I've seen this site in 10+ years. While the reasons are mostly good (basketball team is 95% locked up for next year, Keaton is an undisputed high lottery pick), I'm perilously close to starting food discussions...
Please no. If you must, give it a thread of its own. Please don't screw up a thread that people actually want to read.

Please, no cottage cheese posts, unless that becomes it's own thread. I'm hooked on this site, yet not a fan of weird cottage cheese combinations

QC is 15 on On3, 22 on ESPN, 34 on 247.

The 247 rankings will be updated soon, while the other two have already made their final release.

The 247 composite - which has him 27 - is the combined average of all three.
so let's split the difference and he gets 18 for 247 and that's his composite

Is it just me, or is Andrej starting to look like he might stay in the draft?

Just an aside, for those who recall the discussion, I found a source that verified Tal Brody's two-,handed set shots from 25 feet.

The link.also has some interesting recruiting info from way back in the misty past
