He and Pettigrew have had multiple unofficial visits to campus. I’m sure we’re right where we want to be with them.
Words are Pettigrew can reclass to 2027. How about Kelly in that regard?

That has had no smoke thus far. But Boumtje @ Duke has now opened a 2-and-done door for colleges to pursue for kids who are ready.

Pettigrew said his reclass will depend on Quentin’s spot opening up. Based on my projection from how we looked vs. Cinci, Quentin will be 1-and-done. Maybe not as high as Keaton but he’s a fringe lottery pick.

We’ll have that projection solidified by conference season say early Jan/Feb. The wheels will start to turn and I expect we’ll have Pettigrew locked up right after QC declares in April.

Kelly projects to be a 3 at the NBA level. We’ll definitely have an opening there with Dre likely gone. I just don’t see him back even with 5 for 5. Because by the end of this season he’ll hit the ceiling of how much the staff can develop him. He’s better served going route of Kylan in a relatively weak draft.

We likely have a sense that the Ivisic and Dre positions and NIL free up. So I'd expect we get wing and center commitments before we see backcourt and power forward ones.

Would assume with 5 for 5 a lot will keep reclassifying…maximize earnings and you’d still get your college “senior” year if it doesn’t pan out.
That is a great point, and one I hadn't thought of yet. It's almost like a redshirt year or prep school year. If I'm a high schooler and want to maximize my money, I would graduate early, reclassify and get a decent payday for my freshman year in college. Then I still have 4 more years to play college. Or if I think I'm not a 1 and done, but a 2 or 3 and done based on my trajectory, earn that money and get out of high school. I know that isn't what some of us may want (I like the idea of a kid staying senior year and leading his high school team to a state title), but financially it makes sense if you can handle the scrutiny as a 17 turning 18 year old.
