Basically, almost anything after an Illini football win over Oregon is good.

Ultimately, success will get recruits. Especially those who want to be 1-and-done. The formula (in order):
1. Playing time (see Riley, Jakucionis, Wagler, and now QC).
2. Player development, especially strength (Fletch!), defense (lacking in AAU and Europe) and rebounding. Most players at this level know how to score, so the strength, defense and rebounding will lead to more of #1 on this list (playing time!). THIS is probably the dominant factor to what leads to our players outperforming their recruiting ranking.
3. Program success, with young players in a key role (see 2026 FF, thank Keaton). Doing #1 (playing) and #2 (development) at a high level in B10 and NCAA tourney leads to 1st round picks.
3 1st round one-and-dones in 2 years, all of whom OUTPERFORMED their recruit ranking, is exactly this formula that should lead Pettigrew (and others) to Champaign.
