Hello everyone!!! This is my first post on IllinoisLoyalty. I have followed this site for years and find it the best source for news and updates on all aspects of UIUC sports. I just wanted to throw something out here...Does anyone here remember a band that used to play CU all the time called the Boyzz from Illinoizz? I first heard them on WPGU circa 1979-1980, went to Record Service and bought their first album (along with the Luther Allison live album that was recorded at Panama Red's -- yes, bought them both that same Saturday afternoon), and then never heard hide-nor-hair from them. I've searched high and low for either the Vinyl or the CD of that album, but can't find it online or in resale or trade shops. I run an online radio station and would love to get that LP on the air!!! I also just realized that this is posting as a "Reply" to someone, and I apologize -- I meant for this to be a stand alone message. Go Illini!!!
I saw him play at the Assembly Hall in the late 70s. He did not play the song "Illinois" despite begging from the crowd. His father, who taught music in Peoria, was in the front row and DF sang "Leader of the Band" to him. Not a dry eye in the house. BTW, he attended U of I and was a non-initiated member of my fraternity, who painted a mural on the wall of his room. The house has since been torn down and rebuilt. He did not initiate because he left school. Little know factoid. He had some falling out with some entity at the school and left on bad terms. That is the suspected reason that he did not play "Illinois"
We tore down the original house and rebuilt...underground parking-the works!

Just curious, where did you get this info? If true, that's really interesting. My dad and I are big Fogelberg fans and it would be awesome to be able to point that out to him when we're there to watch the IU-UI game in November.
(He mentions "Greek life" but I'll be a could write a verse about all the dorms.
