Honestly if we lose by less than 4 touchdowns I'll consider this a good game. If we can keep it within 14 points we should be allowed to keep the turtle.Beat the spread.

Guys, We have a chance! Gus Johnson will be there.
6) is there a path to victory other than what most would call a miracle?
I'm guessing OSU has between 15 to 20 5-star recruits on the roster. (I just read where they have a shot at 8 more in the 2021 class). By contrast, Lovie may have six or seven former 4-star recruits on the Illini roster.I haven’t watched Ohio State yet this year, and as I always say my football eye is not refined, so I have some questions.
1) how good are they really?
2) how much better are they than us at different positions? I know they’re future nfl guys, but how does that look and translate to the field compared to our guys?
3) do they protect the football well/can we turn them over?
4) do we have a chance at establishing a run game?
5) will we be able to protect Peters in the passing game and will our receivers actually get separation and get open?

If we were to win it may be the greatest upset in CFB history. More then App State against Mi. Everyone has to be on. I thought the def after the first drive against NB played well. Someone has to spy Fields. You cannot let him sit in the pocket and pick us apart or take off running. There is no doubt he will get his yards and plays, but they have to be limited. If Wade doesn't run the INT back for a td it is a tied game between IU and OSU. The team has to play their hearts out. Let's hope Lovie can pull out some magic. Go Illini!
Our offensive line needs to be relied on in this game. It's one of the few parts of the game we matchup well with OSU (maybe better).Give the ball to Chase Brown at least 25 carries
It makes sense to run, run, run and try to shorten the game, but based on Indiana’s game plan, maybe the path to beating OSU is via the pass, pass, pass. Maybe (hopefully not) either way will not matter and we will punt, punt, punt.Give the ball to Chase Brown at least 25 carries
OSU has a weaker than normal pass D. They give up a lot of big plays. We still need to get our run game going and work our pass game off the run. I think we can stay in this game. Winning is a different animal but we weren't suppose to win in 07. It would be nice to play Iowa at 3-3.It makes sense to run, run, run and try to shorten the game, but based on Indiana’s game plan, maybe the path to beating OSU is via the pass, pass, pass. Just don't think we can be successful if running is all we are trying to do against a top rated OSU run defense. If we want to keep out defense off the field, we need to get first downs. OSU lost a number of db's from last year 's team. We need to mix up our play calling and get first downs. Just trying to run will lead to three downs and out scenarios. It makes sense to run, run, run and try to shorten the game, but based on Indiana’s game plan, maybe the path to beating OSU is via the pass, pass, pass. The run will open up the pass besides Chase will break a couple of runs for sure if he’s fed we’ll. Watched the kid grow up playing with no offensive line our line is good enough for him to get loose. Our offensive line needs to be relied on in this game. There is probably a much better chance of the pass opening up the run against OSU. I had a coach that destroyed us with your philosophy during my time at Illinois. And we had a few linemen that played in the NFL.The run will open up the pass besides Chase will break a couple of runs for sure if he’s fed we’ll. To your point (albeit 13 years ago now), I was just glancing at the highlights from the Juice Williams upset at OSU in 2007. While our best recollection is probably of that final drive during which Juice kept rushing for first downs, he actually threw 4 TD passes accounting for all of our 28 points. There is probably a much better chance of the pass opening up the run against OSU. You are right. Juice went deep early and we scored two touchdowns. The dbs became conscious of getting beat deep and OSU's DC backed off on strong run support from his dbs. We didn't go deep as much Saturday but, we threw sometimes on first downs and immediately after possession changes. I have no problem with running the ball. My problem is with not keeping a defense honest, which you lose if all you are trying to do is run the ball. If you only throw on obvious passing downs, you become easy to defend. Even the best running attacks meet teams that they can't blow off the ball. If you haven't worked on consistently passing the ball in game situations, one can't expect it to become a comfortable item during high stress situations. To your point (albeit 13 years ago now), I was just glancing at the highlights from the Juice Williams upset at OSU in 2007. There was a thread after the game that showed him sliding out of bounds at the one yard line. The ball appeared to hit his elbow while he was out of bounds. Not exactly sure of the rule but there was some thought at the time the correct call should have been dead ball at the one. Anyone remember that and if that should have been the actual result? We also got an incredibly lucky break on the Dufrene not-fumble fumble.

It was a fumble. I cannot believe that Tressel never threw the flag. Dufrene was in the air when the ball came lose. Huge break in that game. There was a thread after the game that showed him sliding out of bounds at the one yard line. The ball appeared to hit his elbow while he was out of bounds. I don’t think they had the ability to call for a challenge back then. I think it would have had to come from the booth, right? It was a fumble. I cannot believe that Tressel never threw the flag. Dufrene was in the air when the ball came lose. Huge break in that game.
It was without question a fumble. As Dufrene slid out of bounds at the one yard line the loose ball appeared to hit him in the elbow. The question is if the ball hits a player who is out of bounds is it a dead ball at that point? It was discussed but I do not remember if the exact rule was ever indicated. Just curious if anyone here knows? I certainly told my Ohio St friends who complained it was not called a fumble it should have been a dead ball anyway. Not sure if that is actually true but it stopped their complaining. It was a fumble. I cannot believe that Tressel never threw the flag. Dufrene was in the air when the ball came lose.
