I said it 2 weeks ago.. this team shouldn’t be ranked until they decide to work together as a team and listen to the coach. After that Penn State debacle, it’s time for this team to actually earn it.

We are more talented than NU. We have a much more proven coaching staff than NU. I’ve been to these games, and it will NOT feel like a home game for NU.

So yeah … if we can’t come out angry and at least make it a battle until the final whistle given the circumstances, the only explanation at this point is that we have a broken team - at least temporarily.

As they should be. Until the lineups change and guys who deserve more minutes get those minutes (cough cough Harris) this is not a ranked caliber team.

Agree. The NW game is what JW and LaTulip have been calling a “toughness” game. On the road. Probably a lackluster home crowd. A team that is inferior on paper but is playing well and, in particular, mucking it up and making teams play half court offense.

I too unfortunately have that one marked down as a L unless I see some real progress in our last buy game. We’ve failed both toughness games spectacularly this year.

And it doesn’t get any easier with Wisky after that. They will run ball screens to get the matchup they want, then back us down and dice us up with cuts and open 3’s. If we don’t figure things out fast we are looking at 0-4 to start league play.

I don't agree, with one exception. If we lose I guess id say we're a seriously broken team. Anything else wouldn't mean much to me. As erratic as we've been it would take 4 or 5 consistently bad or good performances to be able to say where were destined this season.

This team does have talent, however that can only take you so far, at this point they don't have a true identity or leader; the B10 is looking like it's going to be as competitive as ever, so they better figure things out sooner than later, or they'll find themselves on the outside looking in so far as a tournament berth is concerned.

I went to the Missouri game so I’m a little turned off by Illinois basketball right now. The team is currently in a tailspin. I will check back in a few weeks to see if they’ve pulled it together and started playing good basketball.

Am I the only one that has more confidence in the football coaching staff than the basketball staff? Seems like we know who runs the football team, but everyone is trying to figure which player(s) run the basketball team.
