Week 1 is a pathological liar and all that, but you just kind of inherently have to feel good about a football game in which it seems like your team has the better quarterback.

The single most positive thing for me about the UAB game was the way Houser and Lunney already seemed to be so in sync and operating the offense in an advanced way together.

That was a process of growth over Altmyer's three years here, and I was concerned about losing that. If we're starting from a higher floor this time around that's awesome news.

Houser is a great pickup. I like the accuracy, decision making and quick release. He is certainly more athletic on the move that I first thought. Hopefully that continues. Although I am concerned somewhat about the run defense, and the fact that we are missing a great receiver, injuries are part of the game and I think we win this one 33-27. We beat them handily last year and there no reason for me to think that we cannot do it again.

If their QB looks anything close to what he did against Tulane….. we win. Frankly might just need to get to double digits. One of the most uninspiring QB performances I’ve seen in a while from a P4 team.

Thats connection happening quickly shows the clear difference between a guy who had almost no experience under his belt vs one who has a ton of starts already. You also see what is happening at Michigan with Underwood and its really risky to trust your team to a young guy without college experience. I doubt at this point we ever do that again unless there aren't options.

Arch Manning was supposedly the second coming of Johnny Unitas and Sark didnt trust him for two years .
it is very rare that a frosh can come in and play better than a good Jr or Sr. not at that position
