Has anyone who tried to purchase tickets heard anything? Just wondering when they are going to let us know if we got tickets or not.
Tickets for IFund members (who don't have season MBB tickets) go on sale the 9th at noon. The email I received did not say when general public sales occur.

I purchased during the season ticket holder pre-sale - yes, they took my money and I can see the ticket in the Illini app. No seat assignment yet, but it's there.

Unpopular opinion: I'm not sure they deserve more than a slap on the wrist. If you've followed the case the allegations involve three players:

1. Billy Preston who they self-reported to the NCAA and never played in a college game.
2. Cheick Diallo, who's guardian received $1,500 to pay for an online class to become eligible, was suspended for five games and then cleared by the NCAA after donating the sum to a charity.
3. FBI recordings of an Addidas rep telling a Kansas assistant that Zion Williamson's team was asking for cash in hand plus jobs and a house for his parents. Not sure what the punishment should be for being outbid by Duke.

They already suspended Self and Townsand for four games apiece, restricted off campus recruiting and reduced their scholarship allotment by three over three years. My guess is most likely a fine, possibly additional short suspensions and at worst vacated wins (including a Final Four) that Diallo played in though I'm not sure how the IARP could do that since the NCAA cleared him and nothing new has come out.

Fire away about how the world is unfair.

My stance is all this stuff is smoke about a non issue. NIL is here, the people generating the revenue get paid. The only caveat is that kofi doing what he did got him suspended 3 games recently for something that's consideed perfectly legal now. Bad timing and no common sense by the NCAA. That's the breaks and I'm not looking for punishment for something I really don't consider more than a fineable offense as you say. I just hate Kansas and do believe they will get preferential treatment and have in the past.

Well that we can agree on. The Kofi suspension was pure lunacy at the time and even worse in retrospect.

The IARP process was the problem

We don’t want to punish current players which I am all for. Give KU or other schools who violated rules punishment and give players a transfer waiver

OK St got worse punishment for doing less the message received is if you are a blue blood do whatever want
True, true. If Self had remained at Illinois and pulled those shenanigans, the Illini could have very well been given the death sentence.
