Illinois vs Penn, Thursday, November 5th, 7:30pm CT, FS1

Am I the only one slightly worried about this game tonight? Veteran tournament team from last year with their best guys back and a high level coach. And we are starting three freshman, including two that might not have even been recruited by Penn. I love our team and what it could become this year but are we really 28 points better than this Penn team right now? I guess we'll find out.

All this tells me, is that we could win the National Championship 3 years in a row and have five 5-star recruits on the team and I think we’d still have fans thinking we’ll lose a game we’re 30 point favorites

While I was and still am impressed with the offense. I don't want to blow it out of proportion I mean Butler is going to get up over 100 against FDU tonight.
They didn’t — final score says 99-65.

Butler points per possession against FDU: 1.443

Illinois points per possession against FDU: 1.591

….

FDU points per possession against Butler: 0.948

FDU points per possession against Illinois: 0.597

…..

In a 100 possession game: Butler would win by 49.5 points, while Illinois would win by 99.4 points.

Butler covered the spread by 5pts, while Illinois covered the spread by 35pts.

Clearly Illinois had the way more dominant performance.

I mean, Vegas, which has factored in injuries, has us by 6 points more than the metrics-based systems, which have not factored in injuries, if that tells you anything...

84% of bets are on Illinois to cover the 30.5 point spread:

I truly, objectively, full-heartedly believe that our size and tenacity on the boards alone are insurmountable for virtually any mid major. Not saying this from a place of arrogance. I just think they're overmatched and even the "go unconscious from three" strategy that typically propels these upsets won't work because we're so big that you're not going to get good looks from three. And even if you do, by H2 we're going to wear you out so much from our pace that you won't have your legs under you to shoot it well. And if we have a bad shooting night, we'll just rebound our misses and score two points instead of three.

Don't know about the cover. Just want a win. This team was not an easy out last year. They will challenge us.

Does anyone in the SJ area know of a place to watch the game (a place with Xfinity)?

Every place I've checked uses directTV which does not carry peacock or NBCSN. I see NBCSN on Xfinity. I see there is now a new youtube TV that is "built for business". I can't find the channel list for the business version of youtube. I also suspect it is too new for anyone to actually use it yet.
Sorry tried to answer this yesterday but didn't get posted. Game tonight is on FS1 not Peacock. DIRECTTV should work

We beat them by 35….

But it was also a 9 pt game with 16 min left.

Worried is the wrong word. To be honest, even if we somehow lost this game I'd still believe we are a Final 4 team.

I think a more appropriate word is intrugued. Intrigued to see how this team reacts if Penn is hanging around with 10 min left. It's easy to play comfortable when you are up 40. Last year was the Wagler and Mirk show. Who is going to step up this year?

If anyone doesn't have a long season of worrying every single year, we are very different people.
It seems very counterproductive to worry about things you have no control over.

Furthermore, I'm very happy with this team's stakeholders current stakeholders.

Worried is the wrong word, so I take that back!

I just haven't seen enough yet to be supremely confident -- as apparently the Vegas oddsmakers and most everyone on this board is -- that without two starters we will blow out a veteran, tournament-caliber team by 28+ points.
