I mean, I tried being optimistic but it’s gone. Hopefully the optimism comes back tomorrow but:

- we won a TON of coin flip games last year. We gave up 49 to Purdue. At home.

- I would say, without question: USC, Purdue (only because it’s Purdue), Ohio State, Washington, Maryland could absolutely all be losses.

I think 6-6 is the floor. I really do. But tonight’s performance mixed with our underwhelming first halves in the first three games make me feel like we might live a lot closer to the floor than the ceiling this year.

This sucks.

Don't even know what to say after that. Play the freshman or risk losing them to the portal if this season implodes. They could not have given us anything less than what we got tonight. Need more dudes. Way to thin in depth.

I have not been here that long, but Indy is really mad. He is rightfully mad, but is this a potential sign? Was he like this for Beckman, Lovie, or others?

We either come out and hit USC in the mouth until they ring the bell or we're the ones who keep getting popped in the mouth for the rest of the season on our way to a 5-7 finish.

Our program history tells us the latter is likely to happen. I really want to believe things will be different with Bielema but I just can't shake the feeling of waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Hopefully not an overreaction, but have felt staff changes need to happen for a couple of seasons now. Losses this bad should not be happening with as far as this program has come. The lines should not look this bad.

I feel like BB may have allowed himself to become too distracted this week with all the appearances/interviews? Doesn't seem like he has that luxury with the staff as it is assembled currently. We were flat out not prepared for this game, injuries or no injuries. Total domination should not happen to an experienced team like ours. That was below FCS level effort and execution, especially on both lines of scrimmage. Very disappointing to say the least.
Something is not right with the coaching...especially this season thus far.

I believe Illinois has had back to back winning seasons only twice in the last 50 years. Yes, that is very very pathetic. I thought this year was going to be #3. I now have serious concerns.

pretty easy to search and see this is not true. if you’re going strictly by consecutive years, it’s (started in the 80s):
81-82
83-84
88-89
10-11

but yeah, still pathetic

On the bright side, we scored 10 more points than the last time we gave up 63 points.

Yeah but at least those games were only on BTN and not on a primetime game of the week…

Well it is a horrible loss but we have a lot of winnable games before us. Maybe Indiana is just that good.
Exactly. I do wish someone could provide insight into what Cigs did as a Coach to get this program to this level. I know he brought a ton of players from James Madison, but were they that good? His team seemed way faster than our guys. Is he recruiting at a higher level than we are?

The answer to all of these is yes.

NO EXCUSE !!!!! I don’t give a rats what Bret tries to sell post game …

UNACCEPTABLE !!!!!
Our OL was questionable at best against our first 3 cupcakes. The best question is Why?
IU dominated our OL - is anyone surprised, really? They looked bigger, faster, more athletic.

Another big question is what happened to our WR's? They were blanketed all night.
Are our WR's that bad, or are IU DB's that good?
Luke scrambled, got looks, and no one was open. Ever. WTF how does that happen?

I like Feagan, but he's no Josh McCray, who would have bought us a few first downs to rest our D.
Then our D has no DB's, can't get a stop, and its a blowout.

They put their second string against our first and they are fresh and we are wasted, and the score piles up worse.

These are not excuses, they are the realities, as I see them.

$hit happens. This game is over. Move on and prep for USC. Everyone has to man up.
Bret knows what he has to fix. Psyche, OL, extra DB's, prolly lots more.
I think we could use a few trick plays next week, too.
