This game really came down to one play. Our failed attempt to to convert a third and short which resulted in a field goal instead of a possible touchdown.

Third and fourth and 1 has been a struggle all year more often than not. That leads to drives ending with 0 or a FG and today that is how we lost. The defense played pretty well overall. Another game we should've won.

Don’t think QB decision would have changed that.

So much agree with this there was someone at the end of the game thread that said that starting Paddock was the reason we lost. Something like Iowa had a week to prepare for Paddock? That is flat out wrong.

Agreed. I’m sure it’s the same for every team, but it always seems like we miss super important pieces and games that really matter. It just gets so frustrating.

I know it was the first half but that flag they picked up in the first half when our TE was interfered with was hot garbage.
Plus I thought griffin had that second long FG. Sucks it fell just short

late TD sucked but I don't blame the defense too much for this loss. they showed a graphic where we forced 6 straight punts and the most yardage given up in any of those posessions was like 15 yards. just needed to put up more points after forcing those punts

And the IW spot short of the first down. Had to settle for a field goal that drive and might have been more with a fresh set of downs
