I agree with you. But not to be overlooked is our lack of depth. We wear down as the game goes on because of it. As we use our young guys & bring in another good group or two, that shouldn't be an excuse in the next couple years.Im actually very encouraged after watching this game. Still very frustrated though here is why.
#1 JGJ is the hands down better option over chayce crouch. Even though the score doesnt reflect i believe we should have won this game even by more than 1 score. If this were a team full of JRs n Srs we win in a blowout.
#2 Losing culture is why we lost. This game was decided by 1 count it 1 play the pick 6. After that pick 6 we gave up. The leaders of this team especially the defensive leaders need to keep these guys fired up no matter the situation. That pick 6 took the air out of the whole team. And whats worse is Bonner was WIDE OPEN but JGJ threw a bad throw to Dorsey instead of an EASY TD to Bonner.
#3 this team is DEFINATELY getting better we just have to play through the frustration. The score doesnt reflect but before that pick 6 we were doing very well even with the mistakes we SHOULD have took a 20-17 lead instead we went down 24-10 and the air went out the team.
It was not targeting. No penalty on that play

You're right. He clearly didn't lead with the crown of his helmet into the helmet of the offensive player. Penalty should have been called. Booth could and should have reviewed.
Different play call as a runner vs as a receiver or a passer. Could maybe be close to a late hit but not targeting
To anyone who thinks it wasn't targeting, put your head inside of Chayse's helmet.
Sorry if already asked and answered, but did Mike Epstein get hurt?
Why did the kid only get 7 carries?
It was targeting. Led with his helmet into offensive players head.
Was at the game and didn't have the benefit if replay, so I'll ask. How do you have an illegal man down field on that slant for a TD?
I realize the timing was bad for the interceptions and the pick 6 turned the game but, it isn't like other successful teams aren't throwing some interceptions. How many did Michigan throw last night? Part of the reason they lost but, they were highly ranked and it happens to them too.
Sure would like to have the Nebraska game back and try it with JGJ at quarterback. The offense looked a lot better to me with him out there. Hopefully experience helps cut down the TO's. Wish the experience would have started earlier in season.
I hope so too, but there has been nothing to indicate that will be the case.I realize the timing was bad for the interceptions and the pick 6 turned the game but, it isn't like other successful teams aren't throwing some interceptions. He hit him hard with his shoulder. It is tackle football.
I said before the switch that JG was a turnover machine. Even though we have a slim chance with him at the qb, he at least makes it interesting so he gets my vote. Somewhere along the line he will have a good game and we will upset somebody.
It was helmet to helmet contact
It should have been called
I absolutely hate the rule though, for this exact reason
There is no rule prohibiting helmet to helmet contact. There are two main types of targeting. The first one is hitting anyone anywhere with the crown of the helmet. The second one is hitting a defenseless player in the head or neck area (and it doesn't have to be hitting with the helmet). An example of a defenseless player is a receiver who hasn't turned into a runner. Chayce would not be considered defenseless when he was hit.I've watched the gif roll through and his head was down when he hit Chayse's helmet with his. I kind of thought that was a major element. Yeah, it's tackle football, but somethings are beyond the pale, and that was IMO one of them.
Perhaps he didn't intend to do it, but that's the rule now.
1. George needs to play at least two games in a row to develop some chemistry with his receivers. Early in the year announcers were remarking about the chemistry between roommates Chayce and Dude. How did that work out? Give him some time with the first squad before pulling him.
2. I blame the staff for the fourth down play. It should been a no return formation. Let the ball land where it will. Just get it back! For me this was the turning point.
3. I look on the DVD and the O line player was 4 yards past the line of scrimmage. BS call by weak-kneed refs intimidated by Ferentz.
4. Our receivers looked to be mugged all day long.
5. I'm so proud of our kids!
I don't see why people are saying this. You actually have less of a chance to win if the quarterback turns it over four times, including a pick six. The turnovers are demoralizing to the team, you could see it in how the last 20 minutes of the game played out. George has what, six starts now with 5 tds and 10 ints and I don't know how many fumbles. He is not a Div. I caliber qb. He doesn't have the arm strength. The offense won't be any good until they get a decent quarterback, and apparently that quarterback is not on campus yet.George gives you a chance to win games. You have no chance with Crouch. That's the predicament. George is the obvious answer at QB. You live and die with him from here on out.
