Yep - this was the biggest role of Korn Ferry - to control all of the communications and logistics. I really don't think we relied on them too heavily to "identify" candidates, but rather make the connections and perform some due diligence/background checks for each candidate, and ensure deniability from the official committee (along with avoiding FOIA obligations during the search).
The actual "consulting" or whatever was likely a very minor part of the reason why they were hired.

Ah, just like good 'ol Beckman, wants the Chicago media to back him up, be positive, and not be too critical. Everyone wants positive press, but if you have to rub elbows or ask for it, it will come back to bite you in the you know what. Just like it did our old friend Timmy.
I would just focus on running a successful department and watch them jump on the bandwagon when it gets rolling. They are good at that.

"Northern Illinois AD Sean Frazier declined to move forward in the process after an initial interview, sources said".
I think the Score just took that to an extreme and said he told us NO.
