I get the whole money thing, however, why not stay another year, get stronger, win POY and go 1st in the 2027 draft. And, cover yourself with an insurance policy in your sophomore year.
Come on, really? Every kid dribbling a ball dreams of playing in the NBA. If he is going to be projected as a lottery pick, his decision will not be all about money. It’s a dream come true and why risk it. Money will be a big factor, but it’s way more than that.

At this point, he’ll probably just go top 4-5 in this one.

I’m biased. But at the nba level, I’m not totally convinced I’d take boozer over him

Well, he's definitely in the running. The larger question in my mind is, how long he stays with the Illini. Back the NIL money truck up next year.

I don't think Boozer could beat Keaton one on one.
What a dream get for our Illini. When is BU gonna win COY?

We’ve struggled with comps on Wagler, but I got one I like. If someone else said it first, I missed it.

Devin Booker.

Not perfect, and actually Booker isn’t quite the high level shooter people think. But same size. Neither are crazy athletes (in NBA context). I think Wagler at the next level is more a playmaking, occasional point guard, like Booker, but probably a shooting guard.

But both are just calm and collected. And Booker has fit into so many winning teams, and consistently does what’s needed. Neither are awesome at defense, but neither are bad either, and probably closer to good
How about a taller Steph Curry. He's got the range, the instinct, the persona.

A NATTY looks pretty good in the trophy case too.

I agree on the boozer point. There are also concerns about Petersons attitude/work ethic and could result in another Ace Bailey type slide. I could see Keaton going top 5 with his current in-season trajectory combined with his demeanor and upside.

1) Lots of players turn down NBA 1st round especially if you are 19. Players don’t turn down being a Lottery pick.

2) Nebraska isn’t winning BT. They are more like 5th.

3) If the season plays out like it is going, I think Wagler is BT player of the year.

Multiple no calls too.. he should have gotten 30+.. the big ten doesn’t even protect their POY… such a joke of a league.

Keaton’s a point god.

He should be the favorite, as others have pointed out ya probably whoever plays for the big ten champ.
