Per the article posted:

"and the interest on Kentucky’s side wasn’t as high as many believed, myself included."

Come On Reaction GIF by NBA
Sounds like something we would say when we know we are losing a recruiting war. Lol

Agreed on the kickout, but doesn't the new, prototypical big man have at least a mid-range in the NBA? I feel like you might be missing on this one - along with Kofi
Joel Embiid says hi...I think a reliable high post jumper, enhanced defensive footwork and reliable kickout passes to Trent or Podz and he will be a top 10 pick.

I think Emblid or Azubuke are really the type of player Kofi should “try” to become. It takes 3 things I believe:

1) guard Curbello on the PNR every day in practice that will help with what he will see in the NBA
2) a pick & pop shot out to like 15 foot would be huge for him
3) pass the ball out of the double to shooters like Plummer, Frazier, Podz ect

If those three things happen he is lottery for sure. Think is I really believe Illinois is the best place for him to do that. Nil is nice, but peanuts compared to a lottery pick.

Plummer also big time shooter
Yea! Plummer...or Damonte...or Goode...or Hutch. We have unbelievable depth at 1 to 3...players who can shoot. That's why I think Kofi's passing can really be featured.

Would love for workouts to be Kofi m2m on AC or Trent. Trial by fire on D:)

Kofi goals per game, :
-- - 3+ asst game,
-- >65% FT,
-- 2 midrange buckets/gm
-- 85% effective on perimeter switches

I think Kofi had like 4 total assists last year so let's shoot for like 1 a game first. But yes with the shooting around him if he learns to kick it out when double-teamed he could average a bunch. But baby steps. lol

Embiid has skills that Kofi should strive for....including mid range. JE is a beast and I think Kofi could model him and his skills....Kofi is a beast too and I do believe can be better than a role player in NBA.

I absolutely love Kofi, but throwing Embiid around as a player to try and model his game after is wild. Embiid is a regular on the all defense teams and shoots 38% from NBA three. He's arguably the best center in the league. Guess Kofi should watch Jokic passing highlights while hes at it lol.

I think trying to be good at things that a Steven Adams does is much more attainable for him to have an extended NBA career.

What do you mean? Are you saying Embiid does or does not shoot mid range? Cause I'm pretty sure a high percentage of his shots are. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the greeting

Yeah you are right....LOL. he only had 5 asst (sports reference). Looking at yr 1 and yr 2 stats is perplexing for Kofi

...regressed in FT shooting and assists (20 in yr 1). Huge boost in fg% to over 60% in yr 2.

Not if you watch the video breaking down his play for the draft. He's apparently blocking his eyeline on every shot. You can only see it dead on though
I thought he had a hitch in his motion. A little unnatural pause before he released the ball. Didn’t do it all the time and sometimes it went in anyway. I haven't seen that video. If you have the link I’d love to see it.

I noticed during his freshman year he bounced the ball 3 times then took a breath before he shot his FT's....last year it was 1-2 bounces then up with the shot.......

granted , kofi has good form , but he is @ 50-60 % at the end of games when he is fatigued....another year with Fletch and shooting 100+ ft's a day should help with his %.....JMHO

Agree with the odd hitch thing.

It is also weird that his freshman year he started off bad from the stripe, then he had something like 28 or 29 makes in a row.

do we know what time his announcement is? I'd like to have a stopwatch ready for how quickly the "way too early pre-season top 25" and bracketology 21-22 changes.

This a solid post. Adam’s has had a great career and Kofi could become that type of player in the league

I personally don’t think Kofi’s game will resemble anyone in the league. Few are as strong and big as him. He simply needs to get a little more versatile on the wing on defense along with a better basketball IQ on offense. If he can do that and at least make teams respect his 12-15 ft shot then I think he will have a 5+ year NBA career.
