I'm thinking 4-4 in the next 8. Bet we drop the one to Wisky at home too. Should beat Maryland, Washington, Northwestern, and hopefully IU all at home.

This is massive issue. We could lose half of our next 8 games because of this. Looking like a 8 seed now

So just to recap-

21 - We are flying high and Izzo sends in a goon to break our best player’s face. Isn’t the same for the rest of the year.
22 - Weird schizo concussed Belo all year + injuries and pink eye (pink eye!) for the tourney
23- Skyy quits, vibes are off all year
24 - Lose our first team AA for extended time due to a bogus sexual assault charge from a rogue DA who was disciplined by the bar and came in third (!) in the primary for her reelection.
25 - Kasparas injures arm is never the same, Morez breaks hand. Team wracked by illness all February to the point that we don’t even shake hands @wisconsin we are so sick.
26 - Ty out. Kylan fractures hand right before our critical stretch of Q1A road games.

Am I missing anything? I know people want more deep tournament runs and every team goes through adversity but it’s amazing we’ve made the tourney every year and had the success we’ve had with all that nonsense.

EDIT, not sure where to include this or not because it impacted everyone, but 20- young team hitting its stride and looking real dangerous for the tourney but loses opportunity for once in a century pandemic.

Losing Kylan really stinks, wishing him a speedy recovery and fingers crossed it's the last injury of the season.

My 3 pieces of hopium:

1) I like our chances over the next month a little more than when we lost TSJ in 2024. I think we have a couple more options than we did that year, and even that year, we were able to keep a #3 KenPom Purdue team somewhat close, and were able to beat a #16 KenPom Michigan State team.

2) As others have mentioned, losing TSJ allowed guys like Domask to develop into more rounded players during that time.

3) A fair amount of our offensive and defensive schemes run through Kylan. Maybe this will make us a more difficult scout?

You guys are ridiculous. All season we've been excited how deep this team is, and now the sky is falling? We should go into every single game expecting to win regardless of whether we have Kylan.
For those comparing this to the Morez injury though, Kylan is a guard and this is his shooting hand. Morez was able to come back less than full strength and have the same impact. Same can't be said about our point guard who needs it to shoot. Hopefully the fracture isn't too bad, terrible timing but happy to see some bench guys have a chance to step up.

The sky isn’t falling, but lets get real, more times than not, back ups getting experience isn't going to help us win a championship.

Or when Kenyon or Boz get hurt or sick . Cmon guys, having a third tested guard is going to be needed by end of March. Book mark this post

Update - I hate being right. Now I wish PETRO had played more against Minnie.

Oof. And with the toughest part of our conference schedule coming up.

This just seems to happen to us every d@mn year.

We really have a practice problem, why do we have so many injuries in practice?? Has to be addressed.

Pretty brutal loss. This isn't quite as bad as losing Chester Frazier for the tourney, but it's up there. A senior PG fracturing their dominant hand? Not good. Well Mihailo, here's hoping that last game was a springboard and not an outlier... Rough stretch of games to lose Kylan. Injury bug has been a motha this year...

I can't downplay the loss, but I really think that Petrovic will play fairly well for us. He knows he is needed, we probably play a little more confidently knowing he isn't getting yanked at his first mistake. He obviously is a good ball handler and can score. We will really miss Kylan on the defensive end.

Obviously bad news to lose such an important piece, but if he's back late in the season that can make us just as dangerous in the tournament.
Gonna be a rough stretch without him. Wonder if Lee gets a lot more minutes. He seemed ahead of Petrovic

I think Lee is the main beneficiary. This team is loaded offensively and needs his defense

Depends on which bone it is but I would guess 4-6 weeks.

6 weeks would be a safer bet for coming back and not wearing a brace or something that would make it weird to dribble.
