Maybe that will allow him to devote more time in trying to become a better official

I can never understand how these folks with high level jobs can afford enough time away from those jobs to do officiating at this level. I remember Ed Hightower was superintendent of schools in Edwardsville but officiated all over the country.

As someone who works in schools, I'm not surprised in the least. Take that for what it's worth

My first thought from the title of the article was that little Larry Scirottom exhibited such bad judgment as an NCAA official that they felt they had to fire him from his police chief job.

The real question is how much do you hate your family to choose to work 2 jobs like that when you're well compensated and don't need to?

I'll bite, acidically: school officials don't work? They're not teachers, they're not coaches, they're ... overpaid drones on a too-long leash.

Should I apologize? OK :)
I have NEVER worked in education, BUT, I've tons of friends and family (20+ individuals) that work in logistics, admin, and teaching in the K-12 arena, as well as private (Vouchers, religious, others). The hours invested MOST DEFINITELY decrease once you get into the Admin portion of education vs actual teaching which is diametrically opposed to their salaries. I've read countless studies that show the Admin costs far exceed the actual TEACHING costs in near any public schooling system. And this most definitely is the MO of our local/state/national Government & employees. A truly sad state of affairs, imo. I haven't voted for a single Prop, Law, or any other item on the ballot that claims they will increase $$$ for our school systems. When the very first law was passed allowing state/nationwide lotteries claiming X amount would go directly to school funding, and it was obvious IMMEDIATELY that it did NOT. There are literally BILLIONS of dollars spent on Lottery tickets on a monthly basis and our education system is getting worse (I admit there are societal issues)?!?!?!? Wtf..... I no longer vote for ANY tax increases of ANY kind in ANY election....... Sooo much $$$ is wasted, I can't vote yes on any tax increases with a clean and clear conscious....

And if you for some weird reason are wondering, YES, I ABHOR big government, whether it is local, state, or national !!! I certainly fall into the Libertarian/Conservative/fiscal responsibility realm when it comes to .gov/spending..... In other areas, I'm not so strict with my views..... but that's a whole other thread, lol.

His wife prefers it that way. She wants him to travel a lot and live in a different area code. When he isn't working he at the gym working out. She likes that too.
I think that when he was a baby and his parents rocked him to sleep the rocks they used were too big.

I don't even know what this means but I chuckled.
