Lon Kruger to Nat'l College Basketball HOF

#26
B10 final four rate
Henson 12/21 57%
Kruger 5/4 125%
Self 2/3 66%
Weber 6/9 66%
Underwood 2/5 40%

Not what I would have expected. I considered the Henson years the B10's best with IU undefeated champions, Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, Joe Barry Carroll, Clark Kellogg....

If you divide by the total FF participants, they're all fairly similar beside Kruger's term's small sample size.

Only thing I have to add is that it was Kruger that suggested they move the Krush down to standing next to the court. A big step in building up the atmosphere we have at SFC today.
I couldn’t find the specifics on the history, but the Krush originally had seats on the floor. I was lucky enough to have one of those seats in the late 70’s. We sat right behind the illinettes and I promise you I never missed a game. We got to be pretty good friends with some of them and I spent the rest of the school year trying to get one girl to go out with me, but she had a boyfriend and it never happened. I was…wait for it……krushed. :hailtotheorange:

Back to your point, at some time the Krush expanded and were moved into regular seats behind the $$ donors. If Kruger was the one to make the call getting them back on the floor, good for him. It began a legacy that should never change.

I don't think Krush came back to the lower level until the renovation.

I sat on the floor with Krush for the 1984-85 season. Second row. One of the highlights was pointing out a wad of gum on the floor to the official.

88-89 Krush was on the floor. I seem to remember it was Orange Crush in those days and actually sponsored by the beverage company.
