Particularly ridiculous when Michigan was 41-1 and Ohio State 38-4 (if I did my math correctly) against the rest of the conference during that stretch. (Only MSU and Purdue had wins against the Big 2.) And 2 of Ohio State's losses came in Blackman's first year, when he was still implementing his system. In years 2-6, the Big 2 were virtually unbeatable, with Michigan 34-1 and Ohio State 33-2 against the Little 8.I remember that play as well. In retrospect, Blackman was a good coach who could never quite get over the hump. Given today's schedule he would have gone bowling every year.
