I’m interested to see the development of Hawkins. Assuming we don’t land Mitchell, the 4 spot seems to be up for grabs.

I respect Grandisons energy and effort. I am very glad to have him on the team.

However, I would love to see Hawkins put on some weight and make a big jump. I’d also like to see him show more aggression on offense. I really like the tools this kid has at 6’10. He is an nba player if it all comes together at his size.

Trent Frazier announcing his return: multiple hinted Instagram stories, lots of family noise & a super cool hype video.
Da’Monte Williams announcing his return: Just showing up to Ubben on the first day of practice surprising the entire coaching staff.

Ok, anyone else see this? Is this guy credible? Can it be confirmed that Da’Monte is back? Or is this just a guess?

"Surprising the entire coaching staff"...???

I would take that with less than a grain of salt. BU needs to fill out a roster and doesn't have time for surprises. If he's in, he's in and if he's out, he's out. Can't recruit by waiting on a surprise.
OMG you guys. Quit taking everything so seriously. If you can't see that he was being funny comparing the styles of Trent (likes the buildup and the show) vs Monte (strong silent type, just the facts ma'am) in a purely hypothetical situation I don't know if there's help for you.

If Kofi ends up staying in the draft, man I hope we get Tre Mitchell. I think he would bring a dynamic to our team that would make us almost just as good as if Kofi stayed. Kid can hoop and is another large human being.

He worked for Werner for a while before getting his own gig, so yeah he's a legit guy...but.... He's making a joke about how low key DW is and how he avoids the media and spotlight.

Edit: CoalCity was first.

Playing two 4’s without a 5 is pretty common.

I wouldn't mind going in to next year with the guys that are on the roster for sure right now. The freshmen would have growing pains next year but look out in 2022/2023.

This is something I've really appreciated about the staff's efforts, particularly this past month. They've done a great job creating a lot of roster optionality. If our roster as it stands now is what we end up with, I still think we're competitive, if not a top 4 team in the B1G. We have capable guys at every spot on the floor (some more than others of course). But if a decision or two breaks our way, then our backups are starter-level quality and we have guys that are "elite, elite" (BU-speak) at every position. As of right now, the worst case scenario for next year still seems better than the best case scenario of any Groce-era team.

This really puts our current roster in perspective. We are in great shape :

“Iowa’s backcourt just got a lot younger and a lot more unproven. Joe Toussaint is the most experienced known piece, and he has a two-year scoring average of 5.1 points and shoots just 39.4%. Ahron Ulis and Tony Perkins played limited minutes for a Hawkeye team that achieved its highest NCAA Tournament seed (No. 2) since 1987, but for now they will have to become important players. Collectively, that trio is 15-for-54 from 3-point range (27.8%) in their career.

So maybe we haven’t parlayed the buzz around our program into recruiting at the level of Michigan or MSU, but we’ve pulled in a bunch of long, 4 star, top 100ish wings (including both Bass and Storr in this as well. Based on their performances this weekend fully expect both to move up). Can’t imagine how Iowa is feeling right now. No recruiting buzz to speak of and loss of some key pieces to the portal. Have to wonder if last year is Fran’s ceiling and if he only got there by lucking into Garza. Glad we have our coach and staff!

They have zero scorers.

Keegan murray will be their best player by far and they have no impact transfers nor recruits.

Order is restored and it feels so good.
are you forgetting garza?
