I see a great chance to get bowl eligible. We will know a lot about this team after Sep 16 (the Kansas game will be a good non conference road test and tough home game vs Penn State). I will reserve judgment on win total until after Spring Practice, when our roster will be a bit more certain.

For the first time in nearly a decade, we will be the hunted by a majority of West teams.

We won’t know who is even on the teams until spring is over, but that’s never stopped us before, so I’ll be optimistic and say 9-3. That’s borderline crazy with what we will likely lose, but I trust the staff to continue to develop players and bring in the right transfers. I’d put the over under at 7.5. More realistically I’m a game high on both, but it all hinges on finding the right QB again.

I put the o/u at 7.5
we avenge losses to IU & PU

we just better not lose at KU .

can someone clarify, is there a more defined window for the transfer portal this year? tbh, would be nice to have a limit to the ambiguity. QB is #1 priority amongst other needs.

also really really want to see us make some noise on the recruiting trail this year; keep stacking classes-->the Lovie found talent Bret Bielema developed it has legs but will be fun to see him continue develop his own recruits

yeah
Any transfer QB targets yet? Got to imagine Devito is a good proof of concept for anyone next year. Also, BB was the one to get Russell Wilson to Wisconsin.
totally, i get the criticisms of the offense but Devito literally came in and had a record setting year for us at QB- highest comp %, highest passer rating, top 10 yards/attempt, top 20 in CAREER yards, top 20 in CAREER TDs

Just reviewed the 2023 twelve game schedule. With the guys we have returning and the recruits and transfers Bret is getting, I see another HUGE season! There isn't one game on that schedule that I would say is not winnable. We get Penn State at home, and we don't play Michigan or Ohio State. The game September 30th at Purdue will be circled, and we will be bringing it that game.

A bit pessimistic but I’m gonna put the my own o/u at 5.5 wins.

There are a lot of unknowns with our players and with other teams considering Nebraska and Wisky (maybe IU??) will have new coaches and you never know how a team will respond in year 1 of a coaching change.

I think 6-6 is reasonable and could be better if things go our way (win 2 road games against Iowa/Purdue/Minny/Kansas) and/or hold serve at home against Penn State, Wisky, and Nebby.

Odds are we're going to get a fine, competent if unexciting D1 quarterback. Unless that player is an outlier in either direction, I think there's an argument to be made that what happens in the secondary is more important to the overall success of the season.

There are many things to consider this off-season, but landing a qb via the portal has got to be at or near the top, unless things start clicking for someone currently with the team and they improve. I usually look at bigger programs that have had guys play a few games here and there due to injuries or better performances from others on the roster and want to be the full time guy. Wes Lunt was a good example.

Being a SoCal guy, JT Daniels just lost his starting job a West Virginia…. Just saying lol

Michigan or O. State could still be winnable with the defensive scheme we have.

I see our floor at 7 wins. There are some unknown variables such as q.b. play and defensive replacements. I do believe that we will be deeper next year which bodes well in this league.

Doubt our D is as good as this year, but should still be top half of B1G. Get a solid QB replacement and if someone could step in to fill Chases massive shoes, I think our offense could take a step forward with a full year under Lunney's system. IF those things happen I could see at least 7-8 wins again.

Our floor for the next 4 years with Kansas and Duke as our non-conference home/away opponent should be:

3-0 Non-conference
5-4 Conference
8-4 Overall

And I'd love to get a couple of New Year's Day Six bowl games, if not a couple of CFP invites under the new 12-team format.

While I’d love it an 8-4 floor seems optimistic. I’d say 6 win floor (disappointing season) with 9 as a ceiling. Above 9 wins and we’ll be debating whether the BB statue should be bronze or marble.
