It's a tangled web if we try to change the schedule this late in the game. Other schools aren't going to make a change to benefit us without some sort of benefit themselves. Tom Michael is willing to listen but what about Jeri Beggs (ISU). Kansas allegedly has a plan B.It'll be tough for ISU to move that game as I really don't see an open place for them to move it until they're deep into conference season: https://goredbirds.com/sports/football/schedule/2024
Plus EIU and ISU typically like to play the Mid-America Classic early in the season.

ISU can play Kansas, problem solvedWhile I get where you're coming from, I doubt that the Mid-America Classic gets moved, especially at this point. The last time they played a non-playoff game outside of the month of September was back in 1998. Normally the game is played either the 2nd or 3rd weekend of September, depending on how the calendar falls.
Would keep them humble. And I want the officials to start wearing bow ties again.
Pretty ornament, bad memory.
Very warm day, embarrased on the field, and my girlfriend had her purse stolen.Pretty ornament, bad memory.
We have one hanging on our Christmas tree as I write. Wife and I hosted a big Rose Bowl party. Well attended. From boom to bust in the span of a quarter and a half. Have hated Rick Neuheisel ever since. His comments about the game over the years have only deepened my resentment. Am I a sore loser? You bet your life.Pretty ornament, bad memory.
Only team to go 9-0 vs. the old 10-team Big 10, right? It was humiliating. Illinois was considered one of the strongest teams out of the Big Ten in years because we had a good passing game. 6-4-1 UCLA would be no match.
Ugh I wanted to burn my orange painters pants.

I had my dad tape the game on my Betamax. Never watched it.Mom bought a new television set so my brother and I could watch that game in high-style fashion. Then we watched in horror as our Illini were humiliated.
Sony didnt guess wrong very often in the 1970's - 1990's, but that sure was one themI had my dad tape the game on my Betamax. Never watched it.
I saw a Neuheisel comment again recently. With a coy smile, he pointed to the Illini Playboy Mansion visit as being a big contributor to our lethargic play.We have one hanging on our Christmas tree as I write. Haha- I remember that. Back in Champaign the news everyday was the team going to Disneyland, playboy mansion, various tourist attractions and it did make you wonder if they would be ready for the game. UCLA was playing in their home stadium and it was their Super Bowl that year given they had nothing else to play for- the distraction for them was minimal. Definitely showed on the field!I saw a Neuheisel comment again recently. With a coy smile, he pointed to the Illini Playboy Mansion visit as being a big contributor to our lethargic play.
I have no further details.
Smells a bit suspicious now, doesn't it, in light of the the TSJ news that has surfaced over the past 3 days?Illini are backing out of the game next year in Champaign, supposedly. KU already has Syracuse scheduled and are waiting for Illinois to find their replacement before announcing.
I would be happy if there was a B1G realignment angle here and KU was the partner coming in with FSU. Would prefer the Jayhawks over some of the other options.
I think the fact that we're no longer going to be facing a weak Big Ten West is the culprit. What happened with TSJ is bad but it's not a reason to drop a home and homeSmells a bit suspicious now, doesn't it, in light of the the TSJ news that has surfaced over the past 3 days?
Personally, I thought it was incredulous two weeks ago when I first heard the news. How many AD's back out of the home end of a "Home & Home" football agreement that's been on the calendar for 8-10 years? And it's not like we're dumping Alabama or Georgia --- it's just Kansas, the perennial doormat of the Big 12 football.
I guess I can be convinced; however, I don't recall a similar (sudden/late) change occurring over the past 44 years.I think the fact that we're no longer going to be facing a weak Big Ten West is the culprit. What happened with TSJ is bad but it's not a reason to drop a home and home
