Depends on the person, the skill of the surgeon, and skill of your therapists, but he should be back at full strength by next season.Awful.
I'm not up on the latest. What's the prognosis on ACLs these days?

If by that Wade means he shot below average from the field and had limited playmaking ability, then yes, he definitely sacrificed his offense.Wade says that a Miller sacrificed his offense to help Illinois win last year. Kind of a strange take.
It was a conspiracy to pad Kofi’s offensive rebounding statsIf by that Wade means he shot below average from the field and had limited playmaking ability, then yes, he definitely sacrificed his offense.
Really wish this thread would avoid talking about his play for Illinois. Best wishes. Hope he drops twenty on Orlando every time he faces him.

Except for Mark Sm....nah, I wouldn't even wish this on him.Wish him the best in his recovery. Hate to see anyone who committed to the Illini suffer like that.
Hoping for a full recovery. Fortunately, with today's surgical procedures, he should be able to make it all the way back. It is a lot of work ahead of him.
Another example much closer to home is Adam's "Big Brother", DMFW who was averaging over 25 points a game as a Senior in High School in Peoria before tearing his ACL on December 2, 2016. DMFW plays an incredible role as an ILLINI "glue guy" and will once again be an extremely important player on our way to a potential National Championship this year, but he is a very different player on offense since that injury. I suspect that Adam will lean heavily on his "Big Brother" as to his post surgical recovery from his torn ACL, but its too bad that he won't be able to do it with them both in Champaign-Urbana. Still wish he hadn't transferred and hope he has a complete recovery. Things can change so quickly for these young men.Is that true? I seem to recall that being said about DRose, but he didn't have the same athleticism afterwards.
Whatever the case, wish him well with his recovery. He contributed to Illinois, and his commitment was a big boost for the program. We all wish he fit better and stayed, but IMO there's no call for sour grapes.
It's a significant injury. There is no two ways about it. There are a lot of variables that come into play. Kevin Durant tore his a couple years ago and appears to be the same player. Brianna Stewart tore hers and came back to be WNBA MVP the following season. Those are best case scenarios, as there are a lot of players whose careers appear to have been impacted significantly, even though most made it back to the court. Prior to the 1990's, it was often game over.Is that true? I seem to recall that being said about DRose, but he didn't have the same athleticism afterwards.

The mental aspect is sometimes mentioned with DMW. Pretty natural reaction to lose some confidence after an injury like that. It's a significant injury. There is no two ways about it. I agree - I mean, BU continued to start him all season and gave him lots of chance to shineWade says that a Miller sacrificed his offense to help Illinois win last year. Kind of a strange take.
