we might get the true story from an insider , but we can guess that there were plenty of things he simply wasn’t ready to do .
not that he wasn’t able , rather , he just didn’t want to .

cuz you hear stories about guys like Dylan Rosiek that do EVERYTHING AND THEN SOME MORE of the things expected of them

If the decision to leave was Elzy's decision, not smart. Finish out the year with a redshirt.

If Bielema told him to play or walk (ala Cignetti), it's understandable.

Either way, good luck. He just did fit a well as either party wanted.

nah, I get his decision to save a year of eligibility and cut his losses now . He obviously sensed he wasn’t going to get much playing time this year .

he is a true jr.

this way , he still gets a chance to play 2 more seasons . he’s going to need that if he has hopes to play on Sundays

The truth is that it’s a failure on both sides. We didn’t develop him, and he didn’t do the work to develop on his own. It happens.

Hate to it see. Especially, when it comes to kids we nab from in state. Best of luck to Malik. Unfortunately, it just didn't materialize for him here. I think we were all waiting for that jump from him 3 seasons in but it just didn't happened. That WR room has been very competitive since Malik has been with the program.

There are times when you feel like more could have been done and you're left with a sour taste in your mouth. I suppose I don't know all the details, but Elzy's production just never matched his ranking (or his size and athleticism). It's unfortunate because he looks the part- but for some reason it never clicked for him on the field. I still think he had a possibility of a tremendous role on this team next year but Bowick took his reps this year.

He had every opportunity- just didn't work out.

He’s still very young so I don’t think he peaked in hs. He just needs to be more consistent. I hope he has a ton of success wherever he goes.

There will be P4 programs that will fall in love with Elzy's size, potential blocking ability, and the pedigree. Question is whether Elzy wants to take on another P4 opportunity where he will need to fight for a starting job, or if he'll go to an AAC program and get playing time assurances.

Because he lose 8+ games by redshirting? That he could improve himself or show out for future teams?

If 5 in 5 gets passed. Redshirting turns into a wasted 1 year out of 5. As of now you don't get a redshirt on top of the 5 years.**should that be passed**
