Mark Smith signs with Illinois

I see a guy who has great size and athleticism for a Point and who likely should be a top 25 guy instead of where he ended up. He's not a top 10 in the sense that he is ready for the NBA, but I don't think he is too far off either. Vision, size, strength, shooting, intelligence. He really is the complete package for a Point Guard or lead guard or combo, whatever you want to call him.

I will be shocked if he isn't an All-Conference player who spends less than 4 years here. Different players obviously but Smith imo is a better player entering college with a much higher ceiling than Jawun Evans.

What a classy and well spoken young man. Everything about this kid is first class. I think he is going to lead us both on the court and off the court. Can't wit to see him suit up for the orange and blue.

Another thing that has been somewhat overlooked is, whenever we get a big commit, we usually have to wait about a year to a year and half to see that player. In this case we only have to wait about 6 months. Can't wait.
