Have to be up by more late in the first half when the Terps couldn't buy a bucket.

Not a strong offensive performance. The freshmen made mistakes. Does Groce stick with them?

Well, that makes the road to 11 conference wins MUCH more difficult. :(

I do believe MH was fouled both times he got the defender in the air where there were non calls. That is something that is taught at all levels. Every defender is taught from day 1 not to leave their feet in that situation.

HOWEVER, after the first one was not called, Malcolm has to adjust and realize they didn't call it the first time and weren't going to call it down the stretch.

That second half reeked of low BB IQ, following a really poor decision by Groce to end the first half. This wasn't about Maryland playing better defense, this was about poor coaching and poor shot selection.

I haven't enjoyed watching Illinois basketball since Groce's first year

I enjoyed the Michigan game, if I closed my eyes on the defensive end ;)

Really rough game. Turgeon absolutely schooled Groce. Doubling Mav on every touch really threw our offense out of sync, and for a freshman, Huerter (sp?) did an excellent job on Malcolm. Really need to find a versatile scorer (or a few) because what we have now is so easy to defend if you follow the scouting report.

Zero inside offense all game. Eventually we start missing shots and squander a lead that should have been bigger. Seen this movie before.

Groce won't do it but should seriously consider benching Tracy. AJ couldn't play any worse.

Yep. I watch if I can, but don't go out of my way. This was predictable. Even when up 9 or 10 my kid and I were guessing how much we'd lose by. He won because I thought it would be more.

If would have been called if he had jumped into the guy while he was in the air. Instead, he waited until he landed and then jumped into him. Not guaranteed to get the call then.

Didn't get blown out this time. Still, needed to win every game at home. Gotta make this one up somehow. Not sure where it's gonna happen, though.

Just don't know what to say anymore, I'm getting to that level of not feeling any pain because it's just not surprising.

I thought we may have found something last game, but we came out the second half and could not adjust to their adjustments.

This was more shooting than coaching. Those shots were going in during the first half. Having said that, TA is the new Tate as far as 4 on 5 goes. Just because he's a freshman does not mean TJL should be sitting the last 4 minutes, which is on the coaches.
