Kid needs to attack and finish on offense. Stop thinking about it and keep his mouth shut after he makes a basket.
No one knows what BU is telling him to do or not to do on the offensive end. BU himself has said that he has given Hawkins a lot of mixed messages on the offensive end because of the many spots that he has put him in. I am glad that he is an emotional player. Imagine how many times those on here would be claiming that he doesn't care if he were not showing emotion.

I realize when Payne committed. I was saying what big was coming here after Kofi decided to return.

I don’t think the staff was trying to recruit more centers from the portal after Kofi announced he was coming back. So the point that we couldn’t get anyone due a to playing time shortage is probably moot.

Payne was supposed to be developed to be a good backup. Had Kofi not come back, he may have even been expected to be the starter.

Though, had Kofi not come back, the staff would have probably been on the lookout for another big man. We’ll never know.

Regardless, the dominoes fell how they did, and Payne hasn’t reached his potential yet. (Hope he does!) And because of that, BU owns not having someone who can replace Kofi for long stretches. (Again, as of now, I hope Payne can get there)

I’ll agree to disagree on a few points here and there but collectively I think we both agree that, for whatever the reason, we didn’t play up to our standards with or without Kofi.

I’m honestly thinking fatigue may be a part of it as I posited earlier in this thread. The guys looked almost disinterested at times. Like the hardships of this season are starting to get to them.

Or maybe a double OT loss just zapped em? Let’s bounce back against MSU!

Agree with this but am disheartened that they looked panicked down the stretch. We need to be a well-oiled machine to win games like this. Adversity should not be sending guys in to panic mode at this stage of play.
