I hope they all get on an IV and rest because I can't possibly think we are this bad without most being sick

Maybe we can cool it on the talk about our pathway to a 1 seed? Let’s focus on getting some conference wins and getting a good seed in the B1G Tourney. Adjust your expectations. We’ll be okay.
Or I can take up knitting as a hobby.

We were undermanned in the exact worst way tonight and it showed. Getting clowned (again) by that group of yapping d-bags again is just…insert torrent of foul language here

We sorely miss that team veteran to call the player meeting tomorrow and call people out. We do not have that veteran on this team. They have to figure it out. BU can't make them figure it out.

Other than people being sick, gotta value the ball more - most of the loss can be found with our turnovers & not having an answer to their 2 man game.

I hope we handle the rock better going forward, not gonna win in the tournament with that play.

KJ had 20 points. Kylan had 14 points. But both had too many costly moments of being careless with the ball. Ben couldn't get open to save his life. Reese and Queen tag teamed Morez and overwelmed him. Riley gave us nothing (two soft take below the rim that should have resulted in two buckets for him), Tre had moments where he tried. DGL couldn't have seen more minutes with the energy he gave us? Overall, the worst lost of the season so far. Unfocus, no toughness, low IQ tonight.

Key stats: 62 points allowed in paint (Ivisic would have helped here) and -23 points off turnover differential. Can't blame everything on illnesses, but this team looked extra off today. 3 of the last four losses have come without the team at full strength.

Tonight was a disgusting effort for sure, but I am reserving judgment on the ceiling for this team. When healthy, the Illini are very dangerous. Shorthanded, the Illini look mid-pack at best.

Get healthy for Sunday and destroy the kitties.

Let's not do that again anytime soon
Either half the team had strep or an utter lack of focus. Ivisic is a fantastic difference maker in the middle, and no, Booth getting anything more than garbage minutes was not a good sign.
But that was bad.

I guess our team identity this year really is: “we can beat anybody, we can also lose to anybody”. That stinks.

I don’t have time to run the numbers, but have we really beaten anyone when our 3s weren’t falling? I feel like all of our good games have been because we were hitting 3s in spurts. Sadly, we die by the 3 way too often.

I think it is time to say that our portal strategy was not the greatest. Our shooting is not good and it does not translate from lower tier teams to upper D1. Ben has had a moment or two and Jake is ok, but we have literally no consistent three point shooters for an offense that is predicted on three point shooting and layups. Also, we suck at layups, especially Kylan, who does lots else well.

A lot of you guys were drinking the orange kool-aid early in the season. The inconsistencies especially in the backcourt. KJ doesn't have a Robin(Domask)like Shannon did. The inability to guard the paint. That area has been soft since Kofi left. This is a team that will finish with with 10+losses. Brad wants to go young but we see how that works out especially like the 22-23 season. He should learn his lesson and stick to being older. This team just flat out quit tonight. They always have trouble with teams like Maryland and USC. That Elite 8 appearance will be another lost opportunity to make it to a Final Four.
