Boswell and Ben looked almost uninterested at times.
Ben is being relied on much too heavily. He is often athletically overmatched, gets abused defensively by bigger players, and doesn't handle the ball or get his own shot very well. At this level of college basketball, he should be a spot up shooter who plays 15 minutes a game, not a starter on a team with Final Four aspirations.

We missed Tomi no doubt. Morez can't do it by himself. KJ getting stripped twice did not help.

We are getting absolutely nothing from our bench outside of DGL …

He’s the only kid who’s got the fire …

Jake Davis tries hard but that’s not good enough to play here …

Carey Booth isn’t good enough to play here … That was a mistake in recruiting …
Booth is lost. His 1st rebound looked like the 5th string kid, picked last, who got the ball and had no idea what to do with it. That said, he played better later, and Raftery had it right when he said something about not playing much then being in that position and it being difficult.

Davis has had more good moments than bad. He belongs.

ugh this was the biggest loss at home since losing by 22 to PSU in 2018, 74-52.

Remind me again of the wisdom in o ly having 9 scholarship players available to play? This game and Michigan State has really highlighted the need to have a full roster to draw from when guys are injured, sick, in foul trouble, etc.

If you include air balls, KJ and Kylan had something like 17 turnovers. Ridiculous.
I love watching KJ play. Yet I hate watching an opposing player walk up to him and take the ball away while he looks baffled. Happens a couple of times a game or more. It happens I guess to a point guard of his size who is not especially quick and lacks a great handle, but it seems too easy. The only good part is the next time down he has lost all memory of it and still plays aggressively....and that is good.

2022 @UMD Kofi was out and we lost. 2024 TSJ was out and we lost. Today, Tomi is out and we lost. It’s not just that we keep losing to these guys. It’s that we’re constantly shorthanded while it’s happening. My hatred for the Terps is off the charts at this point. And now, since we don’t play them at their place this season, we have to likely wait a full year to hopefully get some revenge. #$%&

Agree. So, so frustrating. Probably the one team that we couldn’t play missing Tomi and battling the flu. Worst possible matchup and the worst possible time.

That said, color me officially concerned about 3 things:
1. Our shooting- for a team full of good shooters we have far too many sub 30 and sub 25 percent shooting nights. The oregons and Penn states when we shoot 40% are a blast, but we need to consistently be around 33-34%. Overall I like our looks. But we have to find some consistency. We desperately needed a solid shooting tonight and didn’t get it.

2. Finishing at the rim- we are smoking far too many layups and bunnies. Team wide problem.

3. Kylan- I think we can officially say he’s in a funk. Smoking layups. Shooting some ill advised 3’s. And careless turnovers. I think it started when KJ was out and he started trying to do too much. He needs to calm down and focus on being a killer on ball defender and chipping in other areas.

I actually thought we battled hard for 30 minutes but looked like a team that had the flu and ran out of gas.

Winning the conference is a lot like winning a nascar race. You need to be good but you need to have some luck too or at least avoid bad luck. The first half of conference season we haven’t avoided it.

Still plenty of Q1 opportunities. Let’s get well and regroup.

I don't want: "On to the next..." I want: "We ain't losing. PERIOD."

When Queen just took it at the rim on that and-1 drive, that was the exclamation point. Foul that dude hard. Send a message. Nothing dirty, just that ain't happening.

And I'll beat this dead horse: We have no interior defense. Quote me alllllll the stats you want. Metric-smetrics. Michigan is gunna feast. Duke is gunna feast. Tough 2's aren't tough 2's when they are layups and dunks.

Outside of DGL this team is kinda soft. We have almost as much talent as the 2005 team, but that team was always locked in and had a serious killer instinct. We don’t. Maybe we’re too young and inexperienced. Not having guys at full strength doesn’t help, but we have to get a lot tougher.

Do you think NIL has had an impact?

100% … It has on every coach … It’s draining …

There is no development anymore … There is no Trent & DMFW & Ayo & Kofi … Where you sprinkle in a Plummer or a Grandison but the core is all back …

Last year … It clicked partially because we were OLD … Brad likes coaching OLD teams …

We went young with Skyy and Epps and that whole group and it didn’t work … And we went a little bit back towards that this year …

Brad has already been told by 2 kids on our team that they’re transferring after the year … Like that’s what CBB has come to …
