I don’t think it’s going to happen this year…they will get just enough wins to make it to the tourney but that’s it. Expect them to lose in the first or second round.

Not yet. He isn't strong enough. He will get there, but he will likely be playing elsewhere by then.

Honestly, not that surprising to hear. This team was bandaged together by high-quality talent in the portal, but it is hard to get a good team bond when it is an entirely new team.

Hopefully this team can get there a bit in the coming month. Winning definitely helps, but the last week and a half is a concern, to say the least. However, the talent is there, and that still has me hopeful.
Look at the talent we got out of the portal. It’s really not that impressive. 1 player in the top 100 is hardly a high quality portal offseason portal.

In terms of togetherness … Team bond …

Outside of that Skyy, Epps, Mayer team … And maybe Brad’s first team …

It’s the least together group he’s had …
I think what helped quite a bit last year though was our 2 best players staying and unifying the group around them. TSJ and Coleman were the culture.

Maybe if KJ, Tomi, and Kylan all stayed we could get that next year, but obviously that’s not going to happen.

They said on Sunday that this was strep throat and he was on antibiotics three days before. It's either not strep or the Illinois doctors gave him Tylenol and not antibiotics. Strep doesn't put you on your butt like this seven days after antibiotics start.

If he's got the flu and is puking, that happens. Can't get around that. Been there, done that. We all have.

If he doesn't play Sunday, this is a much bigger issue than is being let on. Any parent can attest to this.

I worry about Tomi leaving once KJ goes to the league. Finding a starting PG in the portal next year with experience, dawg attitude, and someone TI wants to play with…gotta drop some coin on whoever that dude is.

We are getting absolutely nothing from our bench outside of DGL …

He’s the only kid who’s got the fire …

Jake Davis tries hard but that’s not good enough to play here …

Carey Booth isn’t good enough to play here … That was a mistake in recruiting …
Exactly. Brad said in postgame Booth didn’t have the strength to play in this league. Then why recruit him?

This was poor roster construction. This team HAS to spread the court and drain threes to win. (And get offensive rebounds). That has to be why Brad has been so adamant about playing Humbrichous. It’s very limited.

You have two big guys on the squad. That’s it. No depth. When Ivisic went down during the Eastern Illinois game, it looked bad. And I thought wow this would be huge. Even then it was clear we had no interior depth.

Can’t really play Morez and Tomi at the same time bc there’s no one else to play inside. I don’t know what we paid anyone, but I’d love to have Dani Dainja instead of Booth and Coleman instead of Ben.

And Willard owns Brad. Hurts to say it.

You can't recruit 11 starters. I'm sure the idea is to bulk him up with Fletch. If he doesn't want to put the effort in, then he's going to sit wherever he goes unless it's the OVC. A guy can tell you everything that you want to hear, but when it's time to dedicate yourself, hit the gym early and give a balls out effort everyday.....it's not there.

There's a reason that he gets no tick and I can guarantee that it's all work ethic related. He'll be gone.

I was bulking together the entire recruiting that came about after the season ended as "portal". It is very clear we brought in a lot of high-end talent during this timeframe (Jakucionis, Ivisic, Riley, Boswell, and White to name a few). The rankings are somewhat suspect for international signings, as Jakucionis shows up as 3 star on some sites, and he is way up on the NBA draft board. A lot of high-end talent was brought in, but it hasn't fully gelled consistently.

I like BU but maybe he’s not going to be able get us to final fours or national championships during his tenure.

100% … It has on every coach … It’s draining …

There is no development anymore … There is no Trent & DMFW & Ayo & Kofi … Where you sprinkle in a Plummer or a Grandison but the core is all back …

Last year … It clicked partially because we were OLD … Brad likes coaching OLD teams …

We went young with Skyy and Epps and that whole group and it didn’t work … And we went a little bit back towards that this year …

Brad has already been told by 2 kids on our team that they’re transferring after the year … Like that’s what CBB has come to …
wow...

If I'm a head coach serious about winning my league, I'm finding an immunologist to give my whole team the flu in September so we don't have this nonsense in the heart of the season every freaking year.
