Set him up for failure? One of the insiders said that he wanted to transfer and "the damage was done" because he wasn't starting. He's clearly not ready, but we are woefully short on quality post players.
The red flag for me was that 60% of his shots at ND were from 3. For a 6'10 guy, that screams soft to me.You can't recruit 11 starters. I'm sure the idea is to bulk him up with Fletch. If he doesn't want to put the effort in, then he's going to sit wherever he goes unless it's the OVC. A guy can tell you everything that you want to hear, but when it's time to dedicate yourself, hit the gym early and give a balls out effort everyday.....it's not there.
There's a reason that he gets no tick and I can guarantee that it's all work ethic related. He'll be gone.
He's not physically ready for that competition on either end of the floor. He was one of the violators of going up soft. On defense, he was like a fly on their backs. Just dominated. He's freshman, he's green and he needs to put the work in.I feel like the first is intertwined with the second.
If I'm a head coach serious about winning my league, I'm finding an immunologist to give my whole team the flu in September so we don't have this nonsense in the heart of the season every freaking year.
Brad has already been told by 2 kids on our team that they’re transferring after the year … Like that’s what CBB has come to …
Remind me again....how much NIL money were Trent and DMFW getting? I have tried to be as opened minded as I can about the NIL. I will admit the past system wasn't working but what we are seeing more and more of each week, is what NIL has created......the lack of total 100% effort. It's a lot harder to bench kids that are making good money. For one you would be admitting as a coach you may have misevaluated ones talent and skills at this level. As well as having to answer to the donors you approached as a coach and asked for said monies to get these players. I 100% understand we are young as a team, but my guess is an older team would have cost even more monies and sadly I feel the same results. I guess we will never know what kind of effort and hustle we would have received from Trent and DMFW if they were getting NIL, but I bet they still would have been giving 100% every single minute of every game. I can handle off shooting nights......what I can't handle is the thought of what the university donors spent for this type of effort we have seen way to many times this year. Can they turn it around as they get healthier? I'm starting to wonder if the NIL and the attitudes...side people and what not isn't catching up with Brad. I would have zero problems with Sunday being an old school Brad game where he yells, screams and yes...loses it on the side lines!!! I laugh at the thought of Bobby Knight having to deal with the NIL......that guy would still bench every single starter and play walk on players regardless of how much they were being paid.I’ll call it like it is … Brad doesn’t have the same fire he did when Trent and DMFW were here …
I’m not seeing it … Haven’t seen it all year …
You absolutely can pull significant minutes of Tomi and Morez together. They have started to develop a good high low action. But they cannot commit silly fouls. Just can't happen. This was poor roster construction. This team HAS to spread the court and drain threes to win. (And get offensive rebounds). That has to be why Brad has been so adamant about playing Humbrichous. It’s very limited.
You have two big guys on the squad. That’s it. No depth. When Ivisic went down during the Eastern Illinois game, it looked bad. And I thought wow this would be huge. Even then it was clear we had no interior depth.
Can’t really play Morez and Tomi at the same time bc there’s no one else to play inside. I don’t know what we paid anyone, but I’d love to have Dani Dainja instead of Booth and Coleman instead of Ben.
And Willard owns Brad. Hurts to say it.
Boswell is better than DGL. That's a harsh take. DGL isn't a passer. He is a pure scoring/slashing guard that can make the ocassional three. Both are good defenders but Boswell is better. Boswell is your secondary facilitator as well, something DGL cannot do.no fight. ben is useless. DGL > boswell. Half the guys they got in the portal cant play in this league. Riley isnt a big 10 player either, 1 good game out of 10 does nothing for me
I don't think Maryland is an average team. They're going to be a top 1/2 team in this conference and probably somewhere in the 6-8 range in the tournament. They've got 2 great frontcourt players and solid guard play. I think you're under-valuing themPunked by an averagre B1G team that had not won a road game.
This is the same team that nearly beat Michigan St with a 9 minute game from KJ. This is also the same team that beat Oregon on the road by 30+. They're definitely better than the 2022-2023 squad. But, they need KJ, Ivisic, Boswell, Morez to be healthy/available the rest of the way for both guard and front court continuity. This team definitely is not as bad as the 2022-2023 team, but really need to win 4 of the next 5 at minimum to still feel good for March.
The story of the game was they got abused in the lane b/c they lacked the size without Tomi. Morez could only do so much, Booth is just not physical enough to deal with Reese and Queen, and putting Jake Davis on those two was also a recipe for disaster.I picked the right game to not be able to watch. Sounds terrible. No tomi, sickness, lack of toughness, turnovers, and Maryland. A 21 point loss at home. 5-4 in the big ten when honestly I don't think there is a single great team in the league and not that many really good teams.
This better be the low point and the freshman wall in January... It's possible they basically are an freshman. It's cold out, like my desire to watch this game.
Yes. About a 1 or 2 pt difference.Yes … Ty would have made a difference in every game if he wasn’t redshirting … That was his decision …
You can’t run your only two bigs at the same time for major minutes unless you are prepared to have some stretches with neither in the game. You absolutely can pull significant minutes of Tomi and Morez together. They have started to develop a good high low action. But they cannot commit silly fouls. Just can't happen.
He's supposedly working on becoming more of a point guard(losing weight, working on passing skills in preparation for next year). If he stays, I can't imagine him being our starting PG but maybe a secondary facilitator or point forward?why did Ty redshirt?
You mean like Julian Reece and Derik Queen playing at the same time? SMH.You can’t run your only two bigs at the same time for major minutes unless you are prepared to have some stretches with neither in the game.
Fouls and or fatigue will become a factor in nearly every game.
