Warren Carter had a mental awakening and maturation after his junior season. Even with a redshrt year, I think you would still have only got one good year out of him. Even with the RS year, Chris Gandy was the same way. He had nothing to lose as a senior and played like it; he knew it was his last chance and did something about it. Joe Bertrand and Calvin Brock redshirted. They didn't magically turn into all-conference players.
