When looking at the seat selection portal, why would there be seats already selected in the upper 200 level? It's not like a huge block of seats or even the first couple of rows. There are random 2-4 seats already in red, and they aren't even all on the aisle or in the best rows. Who are these people? If they gave preferntial treatment to bigger donors why would they have crappy seats? For example, Section 208, row 15, seats 7 and 8 are taken already and these are in the back middle of a section in the corner? Everything around them is still green.

Radio contests? Other types of giveaways?

As I was getting familiar with the seat selection portal, I found a couple of errors. I sent a note to my account executive, and he said this is a mock-up and the errors I found should be corrected when the selection process starts. Maybe the mock-up testers entered a few seat selections to confirm it was working.

The email I got from the DIA had the following: Please note some seat locations may already be marked unavailable due to various ticket allocations for visiting teams, player guests, staff, recruits, sponsors, or other related groups.

I know there was some concern mentioned about upping donations and adding money to priority seating fund in an effort to get the seats you want but still possibly getting shut out and "wasting that money".

I confirmed with my account executive yesterday that all funds in the priority seating donation that are not utilized by end of reseating will automatically convert over to the Illini Excellence Gift fund. This gift is tax deductible up to 100%. While not optimal, it might still have some tax benefits.

That would make sense that there might be tester seats for some of the odd ball ones. I guess we'll never fully know but it is a reasonable explanation. I'm sure we'll forget all of this in 4 years when we have to do it all over again

I bought 3 seats. While I plan to sit in the rightmost, I bought the other two in case I wanted to lie down. The seats are about 8' from the action. It was a pretty good deal. All three seats, and the 55" viewing aid cost less than a single mid court seat in the 200 section.

Any update from people selecting their season tickets? Any issues at all? Or are most of the people on this board further down the pecking order for the seat selection process?

Got my tickets this morning. A little further back than what I was hoping based on my I Fund donation. I feel like the estimate I Fund donation tiers and the potential seats they were connected to was not to accurate. Anyone else think the same thing ?

I agree with your comment, but I think the estimates failed because they could not anticipate how many people would increase their IFUND donation by a few thousand dollars to improve their ranking to pick seats. I have been through 3 of these with Northwestern and these 2 with Illinois, and it is always the same -- If you want good seats, be prepared to give a sizable donation.

Before making a sizeable donation, I would price out Traditions Club seats to see if they are a better value.

Are you Champion or Oskee? My tickets just went away this afternoon after going up 1 level on my I fund donation and I don't pick until tomorrow morning.

I am Champion. I just picked. My old seats were still available. It only took a few seconds as i had a card on file. I wanted lower but they were not available.

Im Champion too, but don't pick until 9:00am tomorrow. You've got a lot of points built up at the Champion level, because I've got quite a few.

I am frustrated by the reseating process. My wife and I have been season ticket holders in football and basketball since 2007. We have give in my view, a decent donation to the I fund during this time, $1000 for many years. We have 63,000 priority points, once again, in my view is pretty decent. I am aware of some people with 25,000 priority points, many less years of season tickets, that was allowed to select seats prior to us. How does this happen? I hope someone can enlighten me on what took place here.

The ticket quantity limits are much higher than before. Not sure how many folks are getting the full 10...

I plan to run a survey after everyone has picked so that people get a feel for what donations were needed for which seats. The survey will be anonymous.

The questions I'm planning on are:
* I paid at the $5000+ level and had the options for seats in the $5000+ min contribution area.
* I paid at the $5000+ level and did not get an options for seats in the $5000+ min contribution area.

* I paid at the $2500 level and had the options for seats in the $2500 min contribution area.
* I paid at the $2500 level and did not get an option for seats in the $2500 min contribution area.

* I paid at the $1000 level and had the options for seats in the $1000 min contribution area.
* I paid at the $1000 level and did not get an option for seats in the $1000 min contribution area.
...

I think the levels were 5000+, 2500, 1000, 500, 250, 100.
I'm guessing that anyone donating 5k+ got a seat in the area of their choice, and that I don't need to break out 5k, 10k, 20k, etc.

Picking this afternoon. Any big differences or benefits of one side or the other? 201 side vs 225 side? Thanks for any input.

We started basketball season tickets in 1978 and have held them every year since. That's 47 years. We had football for 10 years in the 80-90s and again from 2002 until 2023. We now only have basketball. We joined IFund around 1998, or 99. We have donated $500 or $1000 every year since. I think the bottom line is based on how much cash you have given rather than longevity. A big check will more a fan to the lower level. I can and won't afford to do that.
I am not willing to give anymore than I donate now. We figure we will always be forced to sit in the higher upper level.
Sorry about your frustration!

I sit on the 225 side only because I park east of the Stadium and I want to get to my car quickly after the game is over. I have a 2.5-hour drive home, and do not want to sit in a parking area or be stuck in traffic around the stadium. The player benches are on the 225 side.

201 side gets easier access to fourth street if you park that way.
