Fun fact- Illinois Football is 2-0 in the Bielema Era on ABC, 9OT @PSU last season, @Neb this season. Go Illini
Love this! If we can beat Purdue at home this weekend and secure our spot as the leader in the West, you really go into Ann Arbor with nothing to lose ... I hope we go up there and play our usual tough brand of football, but it might also be the time to go for some big plays and mix things up.

If we can take the pressure off by beating Purdue I bet we will be in a very good headspace to compete in Ann Arbor.

I don’t think we have the personnel to do this. Nobody we have is a deep threat like Spann was last year. That’s the offensive piece we’re missing.

It’s kinda interesting that we struggle in the red zone when you consider we do everything offensively within 20 yards anyway.

Isn't that the role they will be looking to fill with Hollins and Pugh when they are ready and Miller when healthy?

Hey all. Happy game day.
I have a couple quick questions if anyone could help me out..

My wife and I are heading to Vegas in two weeks to watch the Bball team. I'd obviously like to catch the Illini/Michigan game on Saturday. Does anyone know when they release the game time for that?

Also - I hear Circa is the spot to watch a game. Anyone know if reservations are required/suggested?

Thanks,
Go Illini
You won't have any problem watching at Circa. Since my son and I are driving over from LA we will be there as well. Going to be a great weekend!

What a weekend of Illini sports! Has Illinois sports ever taken out three combined ranked teams in one weekend?? :hailtotheorange:

Also, just so everyone is clear, the two games on ABC this weekend are Illinois/Michigan and Ohio State/Maryland, with the 11:00 am vs. 2:30 pm being the only decision left to be made. Given I am not going, I really have no preference which one we get, but I would think that 2:30 pm will be the "bigger stage" (not competing with Big Noon Kickoff and 2:30 pm games just generally do better on a given channel), so I am kind of hoping for that I guess? Either way, these are the games for these teams this weekend:

Purdue at #21 Illinois
Indiana at #2 Ohio State
Maryland at #14 Penn State
Nebraska at #3 Michigan

So, it appears very likely both OSU and Michigan will win. I would assume the network are effectively penciling in Illinois/Michigan for 2:30 pm and waiting to see if (1) we trip up vs. Purdue again and (2) Maryland pulls the huge upset in Happy Valley.

If all of the "favored" teams win, I think Illinois/Michigan is almost certainly on at 2:30 pm on ABC on the 19th, for those of you trying to plan your day! For me, it is just a question of when I head out to the bars in Chicago. :ROFLMAO:
