I’ve gotten over the game, but first 4 fouls make me furious again
I don't want the benefit of even 1 single questionable call from the refs in this game. I hope that we so completely annihilate the spurtans that there's absolutely nothing the refs can do to influence this game in any way.Hope we get a few calls February 15th. Won't have any members of this horrendous crew though. Hopefully never again on the road.
I gotta hand it to them on that fifth one. Go around the screen, then when you've got your defender behind you, hit the brakes so he runs into you. You can tell it was designed: the ball handler looked back to make sure KJ was coming before he hit the brakes. Same school as getting your defender to jump on a three- pointer, but I've never seen this one before (or at least never realized what was being done.)Can anyone get a mashup of the 5 fouls on KJ?
If you only look at these in a bubble, you could see maybe three are fouls, but when you take them in the context of the game; it's complete bs. At least be consistentI’ve gotten over the game, but first 4 fouls make me furious again![]()
I'll go full tin foil hat here.

I just don't believe it's a coincidence that the four phantom fouls the refs decided to call today just so happened to be against our lottery pick All American. Like, bad calls happen, especially in the B1G. But what are the odds that FOUR get called against our best player? And not only that, every foul occurred virtually as soon as he entered the game. It's almost like they were actively looking for opportunities to call fouls on him.
I'm surprised more hasn't been made of his first foul. At the time, I jokingly told my buddy it was the latest whistle in all cbb history. In hindsight, after seeing how the game played out, it looks like the officials momentarily forgot the assignment and, well after the play was over remembered, "Oh, s#!t, I'm supposed to call fouls on 32."
The real question is, who are the officials serving?
To me, the first 4 fouls were play on, incidental contact where the offensive player was out of control - the fifth foul was a foul.
That reminds me, wasn't there a rumor that there is some kind of major college basketball FBI investigation happening right now?
I didn't get a chance to see the game today, but this is a joke. Maybe the 1st one was a foul, it would have been ticky tack, but you see those get called. The rest where absolute jokes.
My guess is that Izzo was talking to the refs even before tip off. Was probably telling them to watch for this and that related to KJ, then went full blown circus monkey on the sideline when he *thought* he saw anything resembling a foul from KJ. If you noticed, two of the whistles were really late. I'm assuming because they reacted to Izzo's antics.I'll go full tin foil hat here.

Don't besmirch the name of Ed Hightower!
Did it actually hit anything? Can you pass over the backboard?
pass over the backboard? Interesting question.Did it actually hit anything? Can you pass over the backboard?
To be fair, Party had at least a reasonable role is most of those things. Just not the ticky tack against KJ, which makes a world of difference. And obviously we had an off day at the charity stripe, which could have put us over the edge, too.we are a better team than sparty: playing basically without KJ, 2 of our starters in Ben and Tre combining for only 9 points, the awful officiating, missing 10 free throws, a bad day from 3pt, Tomi playing with strep throat and still only lose by 2 on the road in a hostile environment despite all of that
5 for sure. 3 and 1, yes but we certainly see more contact than that go uncalled all the time. Just seemed like they were keyed in on KJ.1 3 and 5 are all fouls. 3 is a tough one but his foot moved in front of Fears and caused him to trip. 2 was the lightest of contact that made no difference and should never be called in any context. 4 is so bad I want to pull my hair out.
