This was Dan’s auto bot that automatically created the postgame thread when Matic entered the game.

It's a shame we are so outmatched on the front line against a team like MSU, but Kipper, what a game tonight. Nice effort at the end Illini!

I hope our guys see that they can play with anyone. Yes, we lost by double digits, but we fought, and MSU is a truly great team.

Great effort. Bottle this and the wins will come. Where has this Kipper been. If he can give us half of what he did tonight the Illini will be in good shape.

To me, that was the most effort Illinois has played with in a conference game. It will take that effort every game to scratch out some wins the rest of the way. This roster imbalance of guards to bigs the Illini have is going to take another 2-3 years to hammer out unfortunately.

I'm pleased with the game tonight. Illinois maxed out their abilities more than Michigan State when you're looking at the level of talent on each team. Michigan State just had too much athletic ability and talent. We need a seven footer that can camp in the lane on defense and grab a rebound.

Jackson and Bridges need to declare for the draft after this year. It's not fair for the rest of the league with them. (I don't think we have to worry about that but happening though).

Good fight and effort at the end. Didn’t expect a win so glad to see a better effort tonight than what we showed at Wisconsin. Go beat Indiana

Good effort, but just totally outclassed athletically.

Hope Brad can get some bigs.

At least we can say the career high game belonged to one of ours tonight...usually not the case.

Well done Kipper, where ya been?
Lucas looked on the court and off like a better teammate.
Frazier was down, maybe freshman wear/tear catching up?
Finke, good all around effort, stepped up also.
Black, never seemed to be able to get going.
Williams, decent defense, not much offense help.
Smith, got beat like a drum tonight, big task to live up to though, guarding Bridges.

If this team ever figures out how to be the best 1 WIN B1G team, they will dangerous. Again, the future can be bright, 25 turnovers but 70% + shooting. Simple formula, up to the task, beating superior talent to much to ask!

Weird what happens when we move the ball and play with energy. Sure we were very clearly outmatched but we just looked so much better as a team today
