Mark Smith has been a disappointment. I thought he would be in the conversation for B1G Freshman awards, but he's been relatively invisible.

Other than Leron, the starters combined for 19 points...

I think that coach Underwood was right earlier in the year when he said that we need someone taller than him.

Really impressed by Damonte Williams' play of late. Also, man, Alstork puts in some serious effort on defense.

Not being a downer, but expect this a lot in the big ten this year. I am ecstatic to see some of the fight in the freshmen and excited to see their growth the rest of the year. Keep them all at Illinois and we are scary the next few years. Ebo showed tonight he’s going to be a player here. He really impressed me with his defensive positioning on more than one occasion against one of the best bigs in the nation.

If this team can keep their intensity, spirits, and effort up the rest of the season... nobody will want to play them in February. They are getting better. They can sneak into the tournament by a hot finish or winning the B1G tournament. I'm encouraged, but damn would I like to see the run of wins start Saturday rather than in late January.

Team needs time. Good effort from Ebo. Book still wide open on him. Mark needs to learn to play vs higher competition. Williams and Frazier will be very good for us. We night make a few upsets this season later on but give it time and Illinois basketball will be in a very good place.

First half shooting killed us. Young guys have heart. TJL has definitely lost all faith in game, wondering what he thinks about his future. No 3's , someone has to shoot, AJ , Finke no shows. Hard to win in B1G road this way. Next game, hope for improvement.

Patience wearing very thin. I know it's early, but having suffered through the last of the Weber years and then Groce, I have no patience left for this. They better start winning some games soon. Other than the Mizzou, game it is the same old crap of giving the team a mile head start and trying to catch up. Unacceptable!

TF, DW, MS and GE, as upper classmen with Ayo and we're gonna be very good. Just gotta get through this stretch. Feels like what us Cub fans went through early on with Rizzo and Castro, while we watched the Minor League teams raking. We're close!

FRAZIER MUST START GOING FORWARD. Coach can see that he is clearly the better guy, right???

Patience, it's year 1.

The post game crew understands just how unfortunate our schedule has been to a young team.

ImAlso shocked, literally shocked, that Alstork has not had a single big game offensively. Defensive effort? OMG, off the charts. But where is his shot?

Not sure.

Coaches, for whatever reason/s, tend to revert to some odd arguments. When William+ Frazier did very well and actually started the second half (IIRC), why not start them in teh first half - lead by 20 points by half, then let Lucas, et al start in the second half.

No, like the ad where the women likes to pour coffee on herself, the guy likes to get caught in a turnstile or the person who loves to walk into a glass door, coaches will start the same 5 that have a louse start - time and time again. I guess coaches need some good (same) talking point after the game?
