The BIG office really needs to get it together. Homecoming is all about the alumni and fans. No Homecoming game should start at 11 AM. That should be a rule. One that makes sense and is easy to fix.

Maybe I'm biased being in Iowa City (they've enjoyed much better football than we have the last two decades, and Champaign's tailgating scene is only starting its climb back to a cool atmosphere on gameday), but 11:00 am games don't seem to be the crowd death sentence other places, and I actually kind of love that feeling of drinking beer at 7:00 am on a crisp fall morning ... I suppose I start drinking at 7:00 am for the 2:30 games, too, but not my point! 11:00 am starts are what I associate with my childhood as an NCAAF fan, so I have a soft spot for them.

I've never really had a problem with 11:00 am games, either.

I mean, obviously night games are cool for what they are, and 2:30 games are convenient for travel, but I also have always had a kind of soft spot for 11:00 am games as well.

That said, 11:00 am kick the most !!! when you win and get to dwell on it the whole day... and they sting the most when you lose...

11 am games are fine for most weeks. But I would like to see one night game a year - home or away - and the homecoming game should always be a 2:30 start. That helps with attendance since people driving down are more likely to come for a 2:30 start than an 11:00 a start. Though if we had some noon or 1:00 games that would be kind of nice.

Why build Grange Grove if league games are going to be brunch start times? What a waste.

An 11:00 AM start allows one to have time to attend the game and still be able to prepare for afternoon tea in Grange Grove. Furthermore, I imagine breakfast under all of those beautiful autumn trees in the grove would just be grand!

I was used to 11 am games in the 80's. Wake up, have a beer and a donut and off to the game.

Cool thing this year, I have a designated driver, if I can convince my daughter of the benefits to driving down and back from Champaign. Grange grove, here I come!

When I was a kid my high school had been doormats for years. We were scheduled to play 8 homecoming games including our own. After all, everyone loves a victory on homecoming. We went 10-0 that season. It was so much fun that year.
