He wants to stay in the draft. As he's said in interviews, he's outgrown college. He just needs a team to use an early second on him. He just helped his cause and ours. We'll see.
Correct. As he's stated, he's outgrown college and doesn't wanna school anymore lol. But, if for some reason what so ever he comes back to college, I believe the ship has sailed that it would be here. From both parties if IIRC.

Their best is behind them, but I always thought Hawk would be a PERFECT fit playing on Golden State.
Yes to me he has a profile similar to Draymond with less beef, but certainly a do it all type..I know his dream is the NBA but Co Hawk they are giving guys 2 million bruh?!!.That’s more than maybe half of the first round picks…I would love to see him come back and put our team in the Final Four…We have every element but Senior leadership..This team right here is Taylor made for you to glow in the dark shine on..Nevertheless I do hope you things go perfectly in your future endeavors Big Dog..Never be forgotten ILL INI..

That foot in the door in the NBA will lead to much more than two million.

The second contract is where the money is at if you can make it that far so the sooner you get in the league the sooner you get there.
Unfortunately for Ayo he had the worst of his three NBA seasons in his contract year so he's now on one of the most team-friendly deals in the league (along with Coby White, how will the Bulls manage to screw this up? Stay tuned!).

That super cheap deal is still $21 million though, which gives you a sense of the scale of difference between the top of the NIL market and NBA veteran money.

I’m still hoping he gets to his dream job for sure..I might have to pause on my Orange Koolaid a bit.

I like Draymond from versatility standpoint in terms of offensive hub and glue guy, but I feel like if Coleman works out, he can be a Boris Diaw, Kyle Anderson, Robert Horry, or PF version of Joakim in terms of style of play. Not saying he will make the league or carve a role, but if he does, that type of play and skill. I do think if given a chance, he will make a nice career out of the NBA though as long as knee stays healthy.

Exactly, even a bottom of the barrel second contract is a HUGE amount of money. Rookie minimum is $1.1 million, jumps to $1.8 for a 2nd year player, and continues to go up every year. A new part of the CBA is that teams can sign 2nd round picks to deals that don't count as much against the salary cap, if its a 3 year deal the first year the minimum for a 2nd year player, a 4 year deal the first year is minimum for a 3rd year player.

So for Coleman if he is guaranteed a 2nd round selection by someone he would be at worst making almost what the highest paid player in college is getting while he starts the clock on accumulating years of service.

So a rookie minimum is 1.1on a second round pick?I know they offer SOME second round picks guaranteed money but not all. So getting 2 million to play less games, and the next year it increases 1.8 million ? If I’m doing that math right. He would play a max of 38 games for ballpark 2 million where as in the NBA it’s 82 games plus something like 50 plus the next season to get to his two million guarantee he would get to be a Tar Heel (not including any other sponsors this great guy could scrounge up..)?? He would be the face of the Illini,Jayhawks,or Tar Heels or Razorbacks..Wherever he went he is going to be an anchor…Now as a first rounder it’s three guaranteed years plus..That’s way different..But I’ve said it earlier,it’s his dream not mine..I’d be happy for this celebrated Illini guy either way….But I just believe with him here with a very capable center, two other copycat guys with his skill set, heck we could have him at the 3 spot our 6 ft 6 in muscle bound bruiser PG and Boswell…Oh well there goes my Orange look aid again..lol

I think Boris Dias sounds close but Kyle Anderson looks less fluid and bounce shortage.Even though he was a great and competent player Robert Horry, honestly I would hope he could have that kind of ring chasing value (7),Horry was never the passer and cerebral game type I think Cohawk has…But I would never throw stones at a trophy and ring case like his..lol

No minimum rookie salary is $1.1 million for any player even if undrafted as long as they are on a one way contract. If a team wants to use the new 2nd round exemption to get avoid some salary cap burden they would be paying the minimum rate for a 2nd year player which is $1.8. Teams are also allowed to have 3 players on two way contracts for either one or two years which pay half the rookie minimum but they are only able to play 50 NBA games max while on the deal. If a team thinks a guy is going to get playing time they will be on a one way contract and generally make more than the minimum. Trayce Jackson-Davis for example was one of the last picks of the draft and got a 4 year $7.6 mil contract.

Regardless of if a player is on a one or two way contract though their seniority clock has started so if they can stick in the league the minimum salaries are going to start ticking up.

Another way to look at it, is the sooner you start, the sooner you get past the rookie contract. If you are going to stick in the league, you are effectively giving up a year of non-rookie salary for that NIL. Pro BB player retirement is usually based on their body/skill declining due to age. That age will likely be the same whether they go pro now or stay another year in college.

As a simple example. Suppose you are going to stick in the NBA for 5+ years.
3 year rookie contract
2 year non-rookie pay.

Now suppose you stay in college one more year for NIL and then p
1 year NIL
3 year rookie contract
1 year non-rookie pay.

So, would you rather have one more year of non-rookie pay, or that NIL?

If you are not certain to make the league, or reasonably likely to not make it past the rookie contract, then taking the NIL can make a lot of sense (e.g. Kofi).

That’s how I would feel so considering it’s his second year at the combine and if I’m not mistaken he’s a lower ranked player this year as opposed to last year, but he’s certainly a much better (and calmer) player this year..He has shown that with his play at the combine and throughout the season. With most teams viewing him as a fringe draft choice it’s a certainty he would nullify the
