I wasn't referring to you directly. I was quoting you in response to you quoting me. I was talking about anyone in general on this board who is choosing to waste their time talking about a kid who had a heart condition which very well impacted his stats and his play this season. It's easy for people to forget about things like this b/c of their personal feelings about LeBron or the Lakers. I've never been a fan of LeBron. I respect his game and what he's done for the sport but not a fan. He doesn't have what Michael or Kobe had as far as the killer mentality. But, talking crap about Bronny out of a dislike for LeBron is brutally low...Illini fan or not...Man, you seem to be taking this personally. The "be better" comment was not in reply to you or even directed at you, remember? It's also weird to straight up claim an attack of your own is fair because you perceived an attack from somewhere else. This is a message board, not Crimea.
I would expect you to address my brief points, but now it looks like you're just coming after me for criticizing the Lakers, even though I can't say for sure that I've even typed the word 'Lakers' in a decade or more.
This all seems like ravings to me. People chatting on message boards have no business discussing draft picks? Nepotism actually IS just fine and dandy? It's the place of illini510 to tell people what they should care about in life? Something about draft picks not mattering because people dream of more than that?
I think that most of us just want to read about Illini players getting good news, with some poking fun at picks and smart analysis sprinkled in. Actual _fanatical_ stuff is, um... uncomfortable.
Exactly....100%...Downright sad that people have nothing better to do with themselves but spend time trashing a guy picked at #55...not 15...not 20...not 30....It's just classless on the part of some people on this board. I get it, everyone has an opinion, but it's still pretty sadAll this debate over the 55th pick in the draft![]()
that's trueIt's pick 55...
who cares...
nobody left at that spot was that special to say it was such a problem anyhow...
Exactly.
Lebron? Is that you?Exactly....100%...Downright sad that people have nothing better to do with themselves but spend time trashing a guy picked at #55...not 15...not 20...not 30....It's just classless on the part of some people on this board. His team is working overtime trying to change the narrativeLebron? Is that you?
Sort of. Exhibit 10 is still undrafted, pays less than college and is a pretty short, one sided contract. Still, it’s a foot in the door and I hope he earns a real contract.Domask to the Bulls![]()
Honestly probably better off going undrafted at that point and picking your team.Exactly....100%...Downright sad that people have nothing better to do with themselves but spend time trashing a guy picked at #55...not 15...not 20...not 30....It's just classless on the part of some people on this board. But isn’t potential not realized? He already has achieved having the name of LeBron James.I said this before and I am saying it again: the NBA drafts on potential and Bronny has the most potential to have the last name James.
Lakers are a privately held company and can make decisions on personnel however they want....that's true in business world too.But isn’t potential not realized? He already has achieved having the name of LeBron James.
The issue for me is that Bronny James is going to have a NBA roster spot on something other than merit. There are only 450 of those jobs on the planet, and the idea that one of them is taken solely because that person is the son of a great player doesn’t sit well with me.
If Bronny James’ name was Ben Jones or Bailey Johnson, would he have a NBA roster spot based on the merits? I think the answer to that question is pretty obvious.
