He gets 2 million even if does a bad job because that's his quote. If the 2 mill plus what he got from Illini isn’t enough, he will make more $$$ overseas

Riley’s stock seems to be on the rise .
aNy ChAnCe WiLl cOmEs BaCk?!?!
He should. He's not ready yet. If he comes back next year and spends more time with Fletch, he'll improve his stock and receive an invite to the ~Emerald~ Room. Which, in terms of rooms named after colors, is an order of magnitude greater than the Green Room.aNy ChAnCe WiLl cOmEs BaCk?!?!

He would lose out on tens of millions of dollars but after your first mil of NIL, who counts?

There is no logical reason to even consider coming back.He should. He's not ready yet. Will Riley is invited to the Green Room:

Vecinie over at the Athletic also has Fears going to NOLA at 7 (as of 6/12), even though in his rankings of prospects he has Fears at 18 (and KJ at 7). What he says is that NBA scouts are more polarized on Fears. Some see him as a high-upside pick with top-5 potential, while others see him as more of a top-20 guy. Scouts views on KJ are more consistent - mid to late lottery. Given that, and the fact that NBA teams like to draft on upside, you can see why Fears would be projected to go before KJ, even though Vecinie ranks KJ higher. All it takes is for one of the teams that sees Fears as a top-5 type guy to have the opportunity.is fears really a better pg prospect than kj? i want more than anything for kj to go to nola at 7 but espn (as well as some other mocks) seems to think fears is the better pg
I'm on the Fears-bust train but he has enough potential for me to be totally wrong. My logic is he was the focal point of a bad team, but players can make it work, like Brandin Podziemski. The big stat difference here though is Podziemski had a far more attractive 3 PT %.is fears really a better pg prospect than kj? i want more than anything for kj to go to nola at 7 but espn (as well as some other mocks) seems to think fears is the better pg
Honestly, I don't think Podz is ever anything more than a journeyman roleplayer. He is too limited as a player outside of shooting. He got put in about the perfect situation for him on Golden State with Curry but I just don't see him taking that next step.I'm on the Fears-bust train but he has enough potential for me to be totally wrong. My comp for Fears in draft discussions has been Johnny Davis. Lot of parallels between the two players and I'd love for Washington to draft him and see what happens.
Depends - do you think Fears can improve his shooting?is fears really a better pg prospect than kj? i want more than anything for kj to go to nola at 7 but espn (as well as some other mocks) seems to think fears is the better pg
He’s never been a good shooter but I would think he will improve by getting stronger and taking 500 shots a day. Ayo really has improved his three point shootingDepends - do you think Fears can improve his shooting?
What's the definition of a "journeyman role player"? He averaged 27 mpg. If you believe he won't make an All-Star team I'd concur.Honestly, I don't think Podz is ever anything more than a journeyman roleplayer. He is too limited as a player outside of shooting. The big question mark with Fears is if he can actually play point at the NBA level(turnovers, facilitating, etc.). I think he's a questionable prospect if he is pushed into a 2 or combo guard role. He wasn't exactly an efficient scorer but he was still very impressive for a kid that should have been a high school senior.
I think he could be kind of like a post knee injury version of Monta Ellis(Ellis was far more explosive before he got hurt).
I mean what would you call Buddy Hield(he averaged 23 minutes on the same team)? Hield has averaged 20 minutes for his career. What's the definition of a "journeyman role player"? He averaged 27 mpg. If you believe he won't make an All-Star team I'd concur.
But he's a lot more than a "shooter". I'm not sure if teams will adjust to his scoring style around the rim. But he clearly has a great feel for the game. He really is a sharp facilitator.
I think Podz has already passed his peak in playing time. I expect he will drop down to a rotational piece (5-10mpg) within 2 years. What's the definition of a "journeyman role player"? He averaged 27 mpg. If you believe he won't make an All-Star team I'd concur.

okay, if that's your definition I agree.I mean what would you call Buddy Hield(he averaged 23 minutes on the same team)? Hield has averaged 20 minutes for his career.
Ayo is also averaging 28 minutes for his career. Love Ayo but no NBA team is building around him.
I agree with all this. I think my original point was I didn't expect much of Podz after his sophomore year being the focus of a bad team, but for the 19th pick I think you're happy with the numbers you've gotten out of him, he wasn't a bust, unlike 10th pick Johnny Davis, who's my top Fears comp.I mean what would you call Buddy Hield(he averaged 23 minutes on the same team)?
