Have reached out to a few people regarding our guys.

Keaton's floor seems to be seven at this point, but could maybe drop to eight or nine if things shake a certain way. Will be a top ten pick though.

Kylan has a chance to go mid to late second. This next week will be huge for him.

As far as Andrej goes, his ceiling seems to be in the 45-50 range, and that is probably a more optimistic outlook. NBA people are fully expecting him to head back to Illinois. Will need to be more consistent at some things to boost his stock for next year. The combine should still be a positive week for him heading into this offseason.

I saw in Yahoo Sports where Dre was now in the 40's. That's a lot better than I anticipated and not everyone that has dropped out has. Not sure what they based that on. I will take Louisville's word that he is coming back. If however, by chance that Sacramento did work out something for a multi year deal and he goes, we would have plenty of money to spend on one of the players that drop out.

Would not be too worried. They will pivot on the very off chance he stays in, but it is widely expected he's back.

I think it’s a real chance Andre stays in the draft. Early round 2 pick.. maybe he takes a chance on himself

It seems like there’s a comparable case with TSJ for Andrej to stay. In 2023 TSJ was a rising senior projected late second round. He stayed, had a great season that was ultimately stained by the legal issues, but he got a deal that was worth substantially more had he stayed in the 2023 draft.

No matter what happens, if Andrej stays he’s going to be a high usage guy on our roster and could really pad his draft stock and line himself up to make substantially more in his first year in the NBA, while also getting another year to play in college at a very high level (vs almost certainly going to the g league and playing for some nonsense team in the middle of nowhere). That said, the opportunity for him to become a high value first round guy is ultimately on him to prove this year. Either way seems like a no brainer to me

Yes, and TSJ was also a much better prospect and higher ranked than Drej in that process.

Going in the late second round to play in the G League your rookie season is beyond me unless you’re out of eligibility, it seems like purgatory.

Why go into the draft a season early just to go play for the Carson City Turnip Farmers in front of a Covid crowd when you can probably make the same or more playing in front of 14K fans while also having the chance of going substantially higher in the draft a year later.

It's too bad the Bulls are so desperate for talent.

I want nothing to do with Brown but given they are so talent deprived, I could see them swinging for his upside and believing he's a franchise building block. Outside possibly Buzelis, I don't think a single player on the Bulls is even possible long term piece for winning in the future. Giddey is a solid primary on bad teams. His value plummets off ball. Glad they didn't blow their wad on paying him long term.

Really hoping the Bulls get some desperately needed luck in the lottery. This just feels like this is going to be a very very long rebuild process. I prefer Mara over Brown at 9 if I'm wanting to build a winning program. But the Bulls are so far away from that, I think they'd swing for upside for guys like Brown & ament with their picks.

I think Brown would be a solid swing at a potential lead guard.

Id argue there is more upside with Brown then every other guard outside of Peterson. Better shooter than Flemings, more explosive than Wagler, and bigger than Acuff.

I agree with your assessment of their roster and even Buzelis is a question mark(he needs to develop more) but he's really the only building block. I think you have to take a swing on a guard with potential like Brown. Though I do think Essengue is a pretty interesting developmental piece.

Ideally they just get some help in the lottery and they luck into Dybantsa.

Might not be there at 9/10 either. Don't know that BG would pick Mara regardless; said he wants switchable players I seem to recall.

IMO this is way overcomplicating it and a route to never getting good.

By way of example, when the Bulls took Patrick Williams there was some discussion of Obi Toppin, with the negatives about Toppin being his age and tweener position and shaky shooting, thinking he'd never be an all-star. Well, all of that stuff is true, but he's still better and more valuable than Patrick Williams.

Just take good players. Good players are good assets. That's the same message for the Bulls abundant cap space. Use it to acquire assets that other teams want, whether that's taking on a bad contracts with picks attached or acquiring a young player whose value will grow.

I totally agree with you about how empty the Bulls cupboard is. Just start putting things in the cupboard.

Graham is supposed to be a very good scout with a good eye for talent. That's good, that's the skillset that's needed. Adding that Portland pick to the pile in a great draft is a golden opportunity. Turn those two picks into two good long term assets and this could look way better in two years.

Lendeborg's a nice player but it was Mara that wowed me when I watched Michigan. Ricky Rubio in Hasheem Thabeet's body.

Malauch is a more interesting piece imo.

Potential Rudy Gobert type defender that can guard on the perimeter and defend the rim.

If the Suns are dumb enough to get rid of Malauch for 15, I would take it.

Mara pretty much forces you into drop coverage.

I think Mara probably has a higher floor but he's also 21 while Malauch is still 19. I know the bulls are a long way from competing but you also have to guard guys like Wemby and Holmgren if you ever hope to compete, so I would take the gamble on Malauch.

There's a part where I completely agree and a part where I'd somewhat push back.

Will the staff "pivot" if he were to leave? more than likely yes, as our team would be extremely thin. But, there's absolutely no way you'd get anyone even close to replacing him. 15ppg, your best defender, and very possibly your best player. Would be an abject disaster, no sugarcoating it.

But... the chances he's gone are about a 1%. I think we're just seeing the natural pessimistic nature of certain folks who claim he is leaving. If it were a player of an opposing team in Andrej's position (say Michigan for example - Elliot Cadeau), pricicely zero people here would be claiming there's a chance of that player not coming back. But since it's our team, we're just seeing these people assume the worst.
