Not sure where to put this, but… Rutgers, Indiana, Iowa and Northwesten have all said “no thank you” to the Crown Tournament.

There are some exciting potential matchups with good storyline. A potential Arkansas vs St. John (Pitino vs Cal, two rival coaches). Potential Memphis vs Maryland (Dain facing Big Ten bigs again. Reese again but with Queen thrown in this time). Danny Wolf could face his old team in Yale.

Iowa State plays an extremely physical, gritty defense. Exact type of team Illinois struggles with. I wouldn't wanna play them.
Iowa State's 2nd leading scorer is going to miss the entire tournament.
