It's minutes not starters Brad. Stop overthinking this. You want to start Ben? Fine. Give him 3-4 shots to see if he's got the range and get him the hell out if he doesn't. Screw the NIL.
I don't think it's NIL but this team doesn't have as much depth as advertised especially at the wing and big position(especially with Ivisic out).

There just isn't much at the 4/5 that you can put in there. Booth looks horrible, Ty redshirted(missing his mentality badly), and Riley is too skinny.

Probably best going with 3 guards and playing Kasparis, Boswell, DGL, White, and Morez at this point but Brad seems allergic to playing small ball.

Let’s grab some numbers. 32 automatic bids and then 36 at large. UConn, Georgia, and Memphis are 36-38 in KenPom right now. You think we could beat any of them right now? Next up is OSU, #24 in KenPom.

Not looking to argue…I respect you as an insider, but if Tomi doesn’t come back in the next 2-3 weeks and at least 80% healthy, something dramatic needs to happen to turn this ship and I don’t know what that is.
We aren’t beating OSU in three days, so I’m right there with you. Look at the teams we’ve actually beaten… they’ve all looked ATROCIOUS lately.

I like Boswell's hustle and play but if he never takes a three point shot again that would be fine with me.
I still haven't figured out why BH ever sees the floor.
Kylan has picked up bad habits from Caleb Love. When he’s on, one of the most sensational and pure shooting strokes out there. Looks like he can hit anything. But when he’s off, it looks forced and mechanical.

Has only shot better than 33% from 3 in 3 games this year. 4/5 at Oregon, 1/2 at Washington, and 2/5 against Chicago State.

Shot 39% and 38% from 3 at Arizona and is now shooting 25% for this season. Imo it just comes down to poor shot selection.

And that really goes for the entire team as they have fallen to 31.9% on the season. Kasparis has fallen too in love with the step back jumper and is down to 37.5%. Humrichous is at 36.8%, Ivisic 35.4%, and Davis 34.2% are the only players above 33%.

If you look at AZ boards or read any national boards at all past year, Arizona fans were complaining about these exact things about Boswell. This isn't something new.

I still think having Boswell is better than our situation last year where we didn't have a PG but man its rough at times.

I confess I haven't read every single post in this thread; it's too long. If there was ever a game decided by the lack of Tomi, this was it. As BU often points out, we run our offense through him. Without that, our offense is more or less helter-skelter, with guys going one-on-one. They are talented players, but they can't just go it alone and expect to win in this league, especially on the road. Nebraska is a good team, but the whole league is made up of good teams that can beat you on any given night. It doesn't help when Ben doesn't show up either. He needs more minutes on the bench and fewer on the floor.

I just want to add, Boswell and DGL are exceptional attack-the-rim guards. They play with purpose and are good, quick athletes who know how to finish. Like other posters have said, Boswell attempts too many threes. We have plenty of talent; when guys like DGL and Riley come in off the bench, you know you have depth. I would put Davis in that category too; he just keeps getting better. On a positive note, I am expecting (and hoping) to have all 3 of these guys back next year. It's pretty obvious KJ will be gone to the NBA.

I hate the five out offense. If I want to see five guys sit outside the arc, chuck 3s, and playing matador defense matador defense, I’ll watch the intramural community college games at my gym after my workout.

Whitman needs to sit down with Underwood and tell him to hire a X-O staff person.

Five out can be fine if you still move the ball, have cutters, off-ball screening, and guys flashing to the post.

But the 5 out they are running just stagnates way to often where it's just 4 guys standing around while 1 guy tries to iso before launching a poor 3 pt attempt.

I do think that Brad and people have bought too much into the having 5 shooters on the court at the same time. There is plenty of things you can do with a non shooter to create space and maintain floor spacing.

Also notice that lately 6'9'' Ben can't even make those little fadeaway jumpers close to the basket.
IMO that's what is wrong with basketball in general. All players want to shoot is the 3 balls. If you can't make a 5' shot, you have no business shooting 3's.

Lost 4 out of 6. The ball handling and passing on this team is atrocious. KJ cannot handle the ball -[6 to] Will Riley is weak with the ball and gets pushed around. He is absolutely brain dead on defense getting beat time after time. Nebby got 44 points in the paint while the Illini were chucking up 44 rocks from 3 and hitting 10. This team has no inside game at all with or without Tomi. Brad still insists on playing Ben who continues to miss the broadside of the barn! The 2 hottest players in the 2nd half were Will and Dra, yet Dra didn't start the OT. The Huskers outrebounded us in the OT and just dominated those 5 minutes. I knew coming in that the Illini would be flat just like they have been the last 6 games. I don't know what they are doing in practice or what the game plan is [ if they even have one] other than shooting 3's from the parking lot. This team is nowhere near a tournament team. All we heard from Brad is how this team could shoot 3's [ I guess he was right] he never said they could make them.
I notice that during the timeouts Brad isn't in the huddle it is generally Tyler. Maybe Brad needs to fire his son!
They have put themselves in a do or die situation that every game from here out is a MUST WIN!

Been saying it since day 1. You will quickly see the death of the game if changes are not made to NIL. The money eventually comes from the fans like us all, and admittedly from those a lot richer than I. But I for one am not interested in watching this $hit show much longer. Talking about college bball in general, not just our own $hit show.
I agree. NIL & the constant wave of players transferring every season is too much. I don't know what the answer is, but the current system isn't working.

Taking Dra out on the final possession of regulation and not starting him in overtime is criminal.
It’s rare I turn a game off. Like very rare. But after coach took out DGL on that final possession and we botched said final possession like usual I decided I wasn’t watching over time.
