No blue pants... For shame
Otherwise they're fine.
1. I want to go ahead and say that I think these are pretty darn good! We didn't reinvent the wheel, and they look traditional while still with a bit of flare. We have never seen orange numbers on the white with a traditional look like this, and I think it really pops.

2. Are we 100% sure this is it? It very likely could be, but it would be the first time in the modern era we have not had any orange jersey. If there is a "missing" orange jersey, there could easily be navy pants, as well. Either way, I like this look!

The best part IMO is the orange #s on white. That rocks. Happy with the stripes, helmet, pants. All good. Would enjoy seeing an orange jersey at some point. Well done.

Now let's hit the field and notch some Ws!

They are marketing the Penn State game as an "orange out," and that game in general is likely going to receive more hype for a home game than we have had in years. I could see a scenario where we bust out an orange jersey for that one, with the shoulder stripe being B/W/B, the number being white with a navy outline and using the white pants pictured above on the left. Personally, I think that jersey would look MIGHTY fine, and if I had the graphic design skills, you'd have the mockup already!

Also, I hate to get greedy because I consider this an overall success for sure, but ... DAMN, would navy pants with an O/W/O stripe look great with that white jersey! The combo of the orange numbers with navy pants would be a great look, IMO. Whenever we wore O/W/B in the 1989-2004 era, it was with navy numbers on the white jersey. Here is an example of what the combo would look like with orange numbers from the Beckman Era jerseys, but it would look WAY cooler with this new set and an orange helmet!

Anyway, though, I am excited!!

I feel like no matter what is done, our uniforms are always going to be compared to Syracuse, and vice versa. We have the same, relatively unique, color scheme.

So they will always be similar, unless one school decides to go outside the box.
What's more, nobody on the planet is making the comparison (especially disparagingly) outside of the 1% of lunatics in each fanbase who concern themselves with such trifles.

TBF, this article is from a Syracuse website. However, I maintain that our old uniforms and Syracuse's old uniforms "looked more alike" because they were both trying to look somewhat "trendy" (JMO). Our new uniforms are about as classic as it gets, like yeah - it's going to look like other orange blue combos.

Did Syracuse historically wear white at home? I feel like you never see a photo of Jim Brown or Floyd Little or Ernie Davis in that era in anything other than a white jersey.

If that's the case the "we didn't copy them, they copied us" case becomes open-and-shut.
