no other place to put this, but refs handed KC the game on a silver platter. questionable calls and non-calls all game. PI against Bengals twice but not the other way when Bengal receiver hit on 3rd and 3 halfway in 4th. Intentional grounding when the ball lands about 5-7 yards from receiver (and ball was tipped ???). Many other calls as well. Also, I don't understand how a reach when pulled back converts a 4th and 1 when you retract the ball voluntarily - it is not akin to breaking the plane of endzone - and it is not forward motion. Refs suck.

They’re the new patriots.

the NFL got the exact Super Bowl match up they wanted.

While Im not saying the refs had their thumb on the scale, one could certainly argue that they did.
Things like how the game was called, and the results thereafter, just don't surprise me anymore.

Dan Snyder looking to try to get 7 BILLION for the Washington Commanders program.
He probably will get it , or real close to it. Supposedly was offered 6.3B in December

Allegretti is one of many players involved in today's game who had significant others that were expecting.

Mecole Hardman, who went on IR this week and thus would not be playing, tweeted out early this morning that his girlfriend had gone into labor.

Jason Kelce and his wife are expecting their 3rd child. Kelce's wife is at 38 weeks pregnant and has brought her obstetricians with her to the game in case she were to go into labor.

At last year's Super Bowl, Van Jefferson found out after the game that his wife had gone into labor and left the postgame celebration to be with her and was able to make it to the hospital in time for the birth of their son.

refs again give chiefs the win - if the hand on the back was PI they could call PI every play

If you make a call like that in the first 2 minutes of the game, you make the call late in the game too. Yeah, it's an anticlimactic way to end the game but if you're an official, you have to be consistent.

I can't recall whether they did or not. My point was more that you have to call that no matter what point in the game it occurs.
Fair enough, but what I think @battle was saying was that they DON’T call that penalty in other parts of the game yet those little holds are happening all the time.

Your argument of consistency is a double edged sword. They didn’t call it once all game (and the likelihood that it happened at least once elsewhere throughout the game is high) thus the refs were actually inconsistent by calling it so late…especially considering the ramifications it had for the game.

In the end, it was a penalty, so it’s hard to argue against the flag. But one can argue about the officiating trend throughout the game and calling it late in a “this will decide it” sort of way.

yes my point was that during this game (and all season), defenders have their hands on the offense (without PI) more than they did on the PI call

the ref should have swallowed the whistle on that play.
you can call defensive PI or defensive holding on just about every pass play if you want to
Doing it on that play , given the time left in the game and the field position, did not make sense to me.

As it was, my hat's off to Mahomes. The guy never fails to amaze me.
Philly's vaulted D didnt show up

Did the contact not start behind the line of scrimmage and aren’t you allowed contact on a receiver within 5 yards?

not sure if it was the contact and right hand that was the PI call or the incidental left hand momentarily placed on left lower back. either way, a dissatisfying way to end game

I also did not know that a RB sliding 'to give himself' up made him down without contact like a QB. i think after slide he immediately got up untouched and went out of bounds at the 2 which would have stopped the clock and Philly would have had 40 more seconds - 44 secs would have been enough to get in FG range and KC might have played it differently (tried to score TD)

I give props to Bradberry (who the penalty was called on) for his remarks after the game. He agreed it was holding and the ref made the right call.

Series of plays in the 2nd half that doomed the Eagles...casual fans will focus on that one
