I don't want to hear that phrase again for a long time. Heard that way too many times in Groce's post-game comments after losing by 20.
I agree along with, "We need to clean that up."

They're so sad. I'm not being sarcastic or snarky or critical. They all just seem so sad.

This is probably the most excited I have been about a game all year.

There is a great chance that Illinois will play fast and free and beat Valpo by 16.

I like having Walker stepping up-This guy has the real pulse of the team. Expect our players to be let loose and play fast.

Anyone else notice former Illini player Mike LaTulip who transferred to Wright State visits Illinois right before the game against Valpo? Gotta wonder if he brought any of Wright State's scouting reports on Valpo with him since both schools are in the same conference...

Halves instead of quarters is one of the few things I prefer about college basketball's rules as opposed to the NBA. And the foul structure goes along with that.

Always worth it to experiment, but I am not inclined to see this as an improvement.

I could more easily support the quarters if the TV timeouts went from 4 minutes to 5 minutes. Anything to move the game along. This might just be one more timeout per half. ugh, if so

Can't say this is the most excited for a game I've been all year, but....I think Walker will let them play loose and I just hope the guys have fun.

They couldn't find somewhere to get interviewed without a construction project going on around them? Geez..

Wonder what the goals will be with this game/tourney? Will it be a chance to give older players one last go, or with the coaching change, will we try to continue to develop the younger guys? Will we see JT and MTJ, maybe even AA?

The goal should be to win the whole thing and to try and attempt to get the stink off of the season, get the stink off the program and get the train back on the tracks going into the recruiting season(and keeping our own current recruits).

Winning the tournament will help bandage a lot of wounds and a good hire on top of that should give everybody a good feeling going forward.

The first game in the NIT is always the toughest to get past. I think that once you win it, you start getting excited about being involved as other team's seasons end.
