Northwestern 45, Illinois 43 Postgame

The only positive that can come from this loss is if Lunney and Henry are not on the field in the spring. This less than mediocre season belongs to them.
Lunney was not the problem, despite the protestations of many. You score 45 at home, you need to win every game. If the Bama/Auburn game is the Iron Bowl, we just played in the Incompetence Bowl.

So, after watching the last half of the season, are we still saying lunney is part of the problem, or is it possible that Altmyer isn’t actually the right quarterback for his offense? Or, was it just a “they needed more time to gel“ kind of thing? It was way more exciting watching Illinois football the last six games then it was the first six.
Our play calling wasn't the issue. Injuries, youth and discipline may be. He is the same OC that beat us at UTSA.

I guess if we expected anything different this season we just haven't been paying attention these past 30+ years. Sadly I was one of those dreamers. What another wasted season after a successful one. Now onto life after the Pac10 expansion where making a bowl game might be a once a decade experience. Fitting end. Just fitting.

Wish Casey and Johnny could've gotten this one last win. They deserved a national championship for how they played today, a win is the least we could have done for them. This one hurts. This whole season hurts.

Yes we were plagued by injuries, yes we lost a lot of star power from last years team. Still should have won more games. 5-7 is an absolute failure of a season. I do have faith in Coach B. I have to, if he can’t build a respectable program here, I really don’t think anyone can.

I like Bielema.
I like Lunney.
I like Altmyer.
And I'd especially like for all of those "senior" players with 2024 eligibility to return for one more year.

Hello boys and girls.....The word for today is "Fumbles "..............Yes , boys and girls , the plural word of the day.......It really really is...

It's NOT a beautiful day in the Illini neighborhood......It's really really NOT...............

When you make this many mistakes... When you cause penalties against yourself... When your athletes aren't big enough, fast enough or tough enough... you will always beat yourself... and last but certainly NOT least, We're Illinois, and we don't deserve nice things...

I really have nothing against Aaron Bailey, shoot I was rooting for him, but realistically epic failure of a first season.

Lunney also is not good but atleaat he seemed to improve.

Changes should have happened mid-season, momentum is gone (those who say it’s not are kidding themselves).

This one hurts. Also, in this day and age, every call should be reviewable because every play matters (I still don’t know how that wasn’t holding).
